The Oedipal mother archetype has been in stories for thousands of years. Why do we have these stories? Because they are a practical warning about the consequences of the over controlling, devouring and over protective mother. And Jordan Peterson would say that these stories are critical to know and that they are a result of thousands of years of humanity recognizing what is good and what is bad.
The Oedipal mother is seen today in the mask Karen who freaks out when someone comes 5 ft 11 inches from their child, who they are protecting from Coronavirus. It is also seen in Joe Biden and Democrat Governors around the country as they enact their lockdowns.
We can, and have, talked about the importance of freedom and liberty. But this Oedipal mother character flaw in people and politicians must also be addressed. We will be raising a nation of cowards and wimps as long as people think that their precious child must be protected from every minor threat that exists (like Coronavirus). If you think Biden and Whitney and Newsom are bad, just wait until you see the Democrats 40 years from now.

Singapore had one new Case this week in the community. A kid who was going to school in the UK (he was there during the heart of the UK pandemic), came back to Singapore on Jan 11. He was isolated in a mandatory government quarantine camp for 14 days, then isolated at home until Feb 5, Tested negative twice while home but when he was taking his exit test for flying back to the UK he tested Positive.
OMG!!! Alarm bells!!! he was rushed by ambulance to mandatory, involuntary, government quarantine... where he tested negative, but still isn’t free to leave... because safety & security over individual rights. During his whole 3 month stay in Singapore he WAS NEVER symptomatic.
If Masks worked, why would Singapore treat asymptomatic, potentially false positive cases like this?
Hint: because they don’t.
