Sarah Palin has tested positive for COVID-19, and she's urging others to continue taking the pandemic seriously.
The former governor of Alaska and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee-turned-TV personality confirms in a statement to PEOPLE that she contracted the coronavirus as did some of her family members, including 12-year-old son Trig. Of her diagnosis, Palin explains that it began when "one of my daughters awoke to having lost her sense of taste and smell [and] immediately had a positive COVID test, then was quarantined in isolation.
"I then observed symptoms in my son Trig, who curiously is the most enthusiastic mask-wearer, and after our numerous negative tests over the year, he tested positive," Palin says. "Children with special needs are vulnerable to COVID ramifications [Trig was born with Down syndrome], so with a high fever he was prescribed azithromycin, which really seemed to help, and I increased amounts of vitamins I put in his puréed food."
Palin says she and her son "buckled down in isolated quarantine" and she "still tested negative." However, "symptoms started overnight with a slight fever and sore muscles."
She adds that she had some of the "bizarre" symptoms characteristic of the virus, like a loss of taste and smell, leading her to assume it was "unmistakable COVID caught me."
Palin tells PEOPLE that COVID-19 can "really knock you down," encouraging everyone to remain vigilant about public health amid the ongoing pandemic.
Palin, who announced in January that her mother, Sally, had died, says that dad Chuck Heath "just got" his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
"I'm more concerned about him and his peers, and this beautiful older generation's health and quality of life should be a national focus and priority," she says.

As for our family, youngest daughter brought it home from in class learning at her (Christian) highschool that's been open since last Oct. Biggest issue for her was loss of smell, slowly returning several months later. Other than that, nobody else got it, all tested. We dont were a mask unless required to shop or at work. We didn't do any disinfecting or cleaning other than what we did in years past.
People who are gungho serious mask users wonder why they get covid amaze the heck out of me. They place a piece of cloth over their mouth and nose, and then leave their eyes totally unprotected. Gee...I wonder why you got a virus. Ever see a scientist or lab tech walk into a "bio" lab where they are doing work on contagious viruses wearing only a piece of cloth over their mouth and nose? There's a reason they don't. Amazing.
If this virus were as dangerous as they say it is, there would have been a mandate to wear an N99/N100 properly fitted mask along with laboratory grade eye protection.
This thing has been a pure power grab and their chance at "the great reset."
And some people say the virus can't be stopped.
Many people do not know she "quit" because of the brutality of the Satanic Soros attack machine on her and her family.
I got news for you Palin, the flu will knock down many people too, even more people, and we as a nation do not shut down our nation for it, and the symptom's for it are about the same for Covid. My gut feeling is you caught the flu.

Because she’s (probably ignorantly) helping push the big government narrative of forced mask wearing.
She should have qualified her comments by stating that even though she may think it is a good idea, wearing a mask should be left up to the individual.

I am in excellent health and take supplements, but I still got covid and lost my senses of taste and smell. Overall symptoms weren’t bad at all (felt like the flu or a cold was coming on but never quite got here). But three weeks after getting it I still don’t have taste or smell.

Sorry for you Sarah. Would love to see you replace Murkowski but, your son who was “an enthusiastic mask wearer” caught it. Hmmm, tell me again why I should wear a mask? Let’s see, the size of the virus is .1 micron, that is so small that if it was aerosolized it would go straight through any commercial mask you could buy.

I can see wearing a mask at this time in stores etc but outside while taking a walk, jogging, or shooting a few hoops by yourself?
I see this all the time, mainly the younger fools, who walk down the block and through an empty park. The general lack of common sense in our society is frightening, and especially among our politicians and some medical “leaders”.

It may be that Palin is ill informed, but her endorsement of the narrative fits in with the plans of America's enemies to get 100% submission.
