Bernie Sanders sure hopes they will be able to. He is even on record seeking the right for convicted terrorists and serial killers to be able to vote and he wants their votes.
In New York, the general rule is that you can vote after incarceration for a felony conviction, while you are on probation, or once you have completed parole. In these cases, your voting rights are automatically restored, but you have to re-register in order to vote. You do not need any special documentation to register.
You see the narrative being painted. White Extremists kill blacks. White Extremists kill Asians.

The left is trying to blame crime against Asians as “white racist hate crime” in an attempt to gain Asians as a leftist oppressed group. This guy doesn’t exactly fit the profile of a Trump supporter though. Most leftists won’t know he was black.
