Having pondered for some time what kind of solution is there to all the anti-gunners who are adamant about restricting or removing the Second Amendment rights of Law abiding Americans, I think I may have arrived at a solution or at least something to debate and throw into the Congressional mix (when it comes to Bill passage).
I would suggest that any representative (or Senator) who feels obligated to go against their oath to Support and Defend the Constitution (especially the Second Amendment - Shall not be Infringed), be required to forfeit their Second Amendment rights as a condition of signature onto any such Bill that modifies or further restricts the Second Amendment.
you won’t get anything better from Spendy Horror.
Ask him how he liked waring the Kinte cloth that day that all the ‘Rat House members kneeled...
You’re close. The people via their states never authorized their new government to restrict gun ownership (or religious worship, press, speech . . .) in the first place, so why deny in the 2A that which wasn’t granted?
The VA ratification convention really rattled James Madison, and when ratification barely squeaked by, he promised to do what he could to add a bill of rights.
In the end, Madison’s initial opposition was spot-on. He feared that in time the courts wouldn’t recognize rights outside those itemized.
He was right. Scotus smacks down new political rights initiated by the states, while at the same time a bare majority of five lawyers have no problem forcing so-called rights on a defenseless society.
