Actually that 11.7% in Asian unmarried births seems very high. I’ve worked with 100s of Asians of all types over the last 20+ years and I never met an Asian mom who was never married.
FYI whites are where Blacks were in the 1980’s. Give it one more generation....

But how many % of the unwed White mothers are the 40+ something Murphy Brown single career focused women who froze their eggs?
Not ideal, but there is a big difference between a Murphy Brown type vs Shanisquita popping out her 4th Trayvone with a 3rd deadbeat father.
Though no doubt the white unwed mother rate is increasing due to the increase in race mixing with Black Males-White women.

A few years ago here in N. California, there was an explosion of very expensive homes/apartments senior centers for retired couples.
Their main attractions: No upkeep costs for the couples living there. A lot of culture tours with buses owned by the retirement center or leased ones for special events. Many of the special events had another price tags.
Before the ChiCom flu hit, many of these expensive retirement centers often had 3-5 year waiting lists of people wanting to buy an expensive place to move into.
Now 1 year post Chicom Flu, those 3-5 year waiting lists are often, move into today if you have the money. Now, after you move into these expensive places, you can’t do anything or go anywhere, due to the ChiCom Flu restrictions. One of our church couples moved into one. Then, they found out about the restrictions.
One of my wife’s friends knows a couple in one of these expensive prisons. The wife will take a financial loss and move out after her terminal husband dies. She has not been out of the penal farm (her description) since last March. They bring their food/meals to their door and leave it at the door. They are not supposed to talk to the food handlers, bringers.
We have 3 recent widows, who go to our church. They looked into these expensive places to go and die in and decided to stay in their current homes.
This has been an incredible economic boom for places like Home Depot re updating/retrofitting the current homes for seniors versus moving into an expensive place to just die.
We made the decision to retro our home to stay in about 5/6 years ago. That was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Basically none of the Senior citizens living on our cul de sac will be moving. They are retroing and staying.
My wife’s middle brother age 80 had a severe stroke early this month. The younger bro and we gave the same advice.
Make their current home senior-ized and stay there. They just put in a new walk in shower/bath, ramps and handle bars everywhere. He is getting his PT and other post stroke therapy in his family room remodeled for the PT and during the day time.
Why should the guvmint care if you’re married, one way or the other?

I think it is the later - out of wedlock births that is not “by race” (as if the culture all blacks grow up in us universal - which it is not) but is experienced by a larger subset of blacks, than it is among a subset of Asians or Whites. I know and have known too many blacks which did not grow up in families and cultures submissive to out-of-wedlock births.
“Higher” statistical rates are too often turned into stereotypes and generalities. Mostly they only represent some higher categorical averages for a group but should not be taken as stereotypes and generalities that are applicable to the whole group.
Another occasion is “black crime”. While crimes committed by black persons represent a larger disproportionate % of crimes relative to the population size of all blacks, it is still not a condition of those crimes being committed by “most” blacks. While the “criminal community” is a higher % of all blacks, than are the criminal communities of whites and Asians as %s of all Whites and Asians, they are not “most” blacks. What they are is a sizeable criminal community that gives all blacks a bad name.
Family cultures that are permissive of out of wedlock births occur in all ethnic groups. Some just more often than others.

But I would think Pakistanis & Syrians would have an even lower number of unwed mothers as being an unwed mother of those ethnicities could get you honor killed.
The only Asians I see with high unwed birth rates are the Filipinos, Maybe there's enough of them here to bump the Asian numbers up.
I’m not rich by most standards, even though I do make 6 digits to the left of the decimal. I also am a widower at age 49, supporting my three teenage kids (2 still in high school), and my 77 year old dad.
I bought 8+ acres of land and built a 2600 sq. foot, 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath, 1 story house on it. We’ve got enough room inside or outside to social distance (hell, we’ve done that for almost 20 years here, so I’m glad to put a name to my lifestyle).
For my empty nest/downsizing, I’m figuring within 5 years I’m selling the house and any vehicles I have, buying a 30-40 foot long twin engine cruiser, and only touching ground to get supplies, maybe someone else to cook and clean dinner, before heading 20-25 miles back off the coast.
I won’t need the land then, because if someone gets too close, I’ll run and gun the other way (take that however you will... deep sea accident, etc., yadda, yadda).

I think the “encouragement” is a consequence of government policy and of the Liberals benign neglect of the fact that that is what happens. I think Liberals benign neglect is in part from their never-spoken acknowledgement that increased government dependency provides voters who want the funds for that dependency to continue. But the truth is that that dependency is not good for the individual or their family or society over the long run. THAT is why we Conservatives put in incentives for people on welfare to seek work; having a job and earning a living, no matter how meager is more personally beneficial than government dependency.
