Very quietly the death count has stopped falling, and it was never steepening as vaccination reduced elderly targets for the virus. It should have steepened to near vertical, but never did/has.
In terms of granularity, a careful look will find California not doing well at all.

I might mean that variant. It really doesn’t matter. The great danger . . . the monumental danger . . . is just how many of these mutated virus particles are out there. They are not alive. Mutation is not a life process. It is a statistical process.
