(1) Take care of your teeth: (actually gums more IMO) It may sound surprising, but there is a connection between your oral health and aging.
“There’s quite good evidence accumulating now that brushing your teeth can stave off heart disease and maybe even dementia,” Steele says
(2) Exercise regularly: Research has shown that people who have consistently high levels of activity have longer telomeres, which are caps at the end of chromosomes that shorten as you age. Adults with high physical activity levels (defined as 30 minutes of exercise five days a week) had telomeres that were nine years “younger” than others,
This is why drag my butt to gym 6 days/week.
(3)Get good sleep: During sleep, your brain essentially flushes out toxins, including some that are associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Systemic reviews of research on sleep and mortality have shown that getting less than seven or eight hours of sleep is associated with an increased chance of death, but sleeping more than 11 hours a night is associated with an even larger increase for death.
I can’t sleep so I’ll see you on the other side.
Another method:
Believe and declare that the Lord “Renews my youth as the eagles” (Ps. 103:5).
He in the process of doing that for me right now. At least in some ways, I feel younger at 73 than I did at 23.
Ping.
The reason has to do with blood supply between the mouth area and the heart.
In about 98% of the heart attack cases they find the same bacteria causing problems in the mouth, in the heart tissue.
This is also why you don’t want to have root canals if you can avoid it. Bacteria from those deep bloody operations can find their way to your heart.
It’s been a significantly underestimated risk.
Weird finding: A couple of years ago, I had a telomere test done. The result was that my telomeres measured the same as a ten-year-old in length.
As I told my wife, maybe that explains my immaturity.
As Groucho Marx says “You’re only as old as the woman you feel.” I keep getting younger and younger girlfriends.
6 days a week is too much. Double your cardio time and cut it to 3-4 days. IMHO.
Marry a young wife...
Tragic, that dentistry did not explain *why* and *how* to patients: dental floss and brushing teeth.
Re your points 1, 2, and 3: Agree
But, re 2, a handicap gets in the way, and too long a time at failing 3, also got in the way.
I’m blessed with the consistent ability to sleep a solid 8 hours every night.
Does this mean they are gonna draft old people who actually care for this country?
If you sleep more 11 hours a night you are either sick or depressed.
Either one will kill you.
“We have loads and loads of different ways in the lab to slow down and reverse this process.”
How about DNA. Like some folks can smoke for 70 years and live to be 100. Others can drink a 6 pack of beer or a pint of hard booze every year and live to be 100. Some folks can be 50 lbs overweight and live to be 100. Most don’t in either of those cases mentioned above. Your DNA usually determines what abuses your body can tolerate. Some folks live extraordinarily clean, healthy lives and never make it past 60 years.
Some elderly types using male pronouns look for any reason to land in the hospital ..... so they can look at the nurses ..... the ones with natural female body parts.
bkmk
The problem with giving up wine, women, and song is that there is no wine, woman, or song.
Though, I must say, it is a lot quieter.
Yep. I am good at all of those and a real champ at sleeping.
However, our idiot governor closed the gyms and my bp went sky high. Open again, and bp going down again. I live in a very nice senior complex with perhaps 120 residents. Nobody got C-19 though many of us get together for dinner, parties on the lawn, in each other’s apartments and now trips to restaurants. Some are healthier than others of course. My fave 98-year-old woman was carted off to the hospital last week with a little heart problem but came home the next day.
Live healthy - period.

No age reversal drugs or treatments.
I wouldn’t take a do over if offered.
