Biden sacrificing Harris on border.
Please, never use "Harris" and "tapping" in a sentence, ever again.
You might ask why was Anthony Fauci put in charge of the Pandemic when he was the one who caused it?

Yeh, Kamala sniffed this one out. Biden and his contingency want to move Kamala out of the line-lite. But, Kamala didn’t take the bait. She’s said, paraphrasing, that she would monitor the border situation at the strategic level working with Central American countries for long term solutions. Specifically said she would not be involved in day to day tactical issues. She was smart to not allowing herself to be drawn down that rabbit hole.
I believe Vermont Lt is also correct in that Harris (and no doubt her handlers) came up with the counter strategy that she is going to work to determine the cause, rather than handle it directly.
All of which says that there are some Game of Thrones type stuff going on in the WH, that we are only aware of through analyzing their actions, as you both did.
We are living in those interesting times from the Chinese curse.
But what if Biden's people resented this? What if they felt they were being pushed out? They would try to load Harris down with hard, unpopular tasks and unsolvable problems. That would bring the ambitions of her team down to earth.
Still, a more naive interpretation is possible. Biden put Harris in charge of the border, like Trump put Pence in charge of COVID. It's a chance for a vice president to get some experience and something on their resume. Maybe the Biden/Harris team has that little understanding of themselves and their capabilities and the world.
Pence stepped back and let Fauci take charge of the mess. Harris could find some front person and lay low and hope it all goes away, but it will be harder to do that this time. COVID is a medical problem and doctors are the ones who were going to be talking about it on television. Immigration is a policy and management problem. Harris is going to have to show results and that's going to be hard or impossible for her.

Yeah, being handed an impossible job by any measure will certainly garner approval ratings.

I don’t buy it. Her appointment gives the puppet an out. She owns whatever happens, ‘bad’ no matter the the outcome at the hands of a dem.
The real question is not ‘why, but “WHO” wanted Harris to be sacrificed.

Au contraire. China Joe know that the Ho can't / won't accomplish anything and that curries favor with the "One-World" lefties and the socialist dems who want to create new voters.
Her stated views on anything are pretty irrelevant, as are Bidens...this presidency as many others is run by the Party. Kamala being a POC makes complete sense to appoint her. She can deflect much of the criticism.
