Chicago is famous for many things: tall buildings, great universities, a history of organized crime, and deep-dish pizza.
The two goliaths in this game are Giordano's and Lou Malnati's. I'm no deep-dish expert, but I had my share of the dense, cheesy pie during my college years in the Chicago area. Deep-dish was the pizza of choice at most gatherings, unfortunately for me as I am lactose-intolerant.
Aside from the fact that deep-dish always made me feel sick, I remembered thinking Giordano's was slightly better than Lou Malnati's. But that might have just been because people ate it more.
In general, I never saw what all the fuss was about. Deep-dish just never tasted that good to me.

I thought this thread was going to be about Podesta, HRC and/or Ellen.
I had the lasagna
I read once where a pizza critic said that Chicago pizza should be called a casserole.
Around here it’s mostly thick crust and thin fixings ... haven’t had deep dish in years.
It can go where ever you want it to go...
I’ve had both, and I agree. Malnati’s also has the option on their pizzas for “regular crust” or “butter crust”. Butter is better.
Maybe people could just eat a loaf of bread then enjoy a thin crust.
The commercials jamming that site are far more grating than anyone’s disdain for deep dish pizza
I wouldn’t want deep dish all the time but either of those are great representatives
Leave the gun.
Take the lasagna.
I found the entire affair ridiculous, “I am lactose intolerant and decided to do a review of cheesy pie, noise, gastric distress and smells resulted”
Pizza snobs are like BBQ snobs. If it’s not from their region or city, it’s evil.
It’s not evil, it’s different. Delight in it.
I had Lou Malnatti’s. Not bad. One slice was about enough. Pizza Uno isn’t bad either (they are in Michigan) but I don’t frequent any Chicago-style joints unless hanging out with friends. Still prefer thin crust.
Lon time ago I took my wife to a place that made traditional pizzas.
She couldnt believe it.
I’ve had pizza from both Lou Malnati’s and Giordano’s, and they were both very good. My favorite Chicago style pizza, however, is from Leonardo’s in Gainesville.
In fact the internet has threads devoted to how irritating business insider reloading crap is’
You can’t scroll down’....the ads keep reloading ...it’s ridiculous
Wasn't Loui's the name of the Bronx diner where Michael met with Solozzo?
Yeah, who the hell becomes a food critic when a huge percentage of food-types makes them sick?
