I’d be curious to see the CDC rationale. Other than keeping the nation shut down. At this point, unfortunately, the industry has to look to other nations.

And unfortunately it means no American hotel stays, or American restaurant meals, or American Taxi type service to get to the cruise ship, and no American longshoremen types of jobs at the Cruise dock.

And I would imagine in some of the Lines American workers will have to be relocated to these foreign ports or let go if locals are hired.

And it will be more difficult for our ambulance chasing lawyers to be at the docks when the cruise ships return to a foreign port. -Tom

All the better to hurt DeSantis/Florida.

Truly sickening. Not surprising.

Why not just require tests prior, and maybe mid trip, and masks, like the airlines are doing (not mid-trip, of course)?

And, build out designated quarantine rooms...then, allow the infected ... or, whoever wants to....to disembark, at the next stop. Well, that is....if that port/town/country will accept them.

Hmmmm....maybe therein lies the problem. 🤔

Maybe just sign a waiver, to board, saying you will not hold cruise line liable, should you contract the China flu...or ANY flu, while on board. Sort of an enter at your own risk waiver.

How to they handle Legionnaire’s - and, other potential, on-baord-diseases liability?

That' why they are foreign flagged to avoid litigious people like us Americans who will sue if there is a prospect of a monetary reward.

The cruise lines could buy a lot of seats and offer flight specials to the passengers...they do for Europe and San Juan...it includes a night in a nice hotel before the cruise...

Cheaper than a nursing home, as they say. Probably safer too if the nursing home option is NY.

Carnival has stated they will not move their ships OUT of this country ,but they have ships already outside this country, so they can MOVE those ships, outside the USA, around the world to avoid our CDC regulations.

Since the Carnival Mardi Gras is anticipating Caribbean cruises perhaps a port like Cozumel might be considered, since if they get the USA go ahead they can homeport in Florida quickly, which was their original intention. -Tom
