The Spectator’s Amber Athey reports that South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem says she’s the victim of “conservative cancel culture” over her opposition to a bill making its way through the state legislature to “promote continued fairness in women’s sports”

Since you into cutting and pasting. Here is one for you:
“She was considered a shining star in the GOP with a bright future. No more,” Michael Farris, the head of an advocacy group, Alliance Defending Freedom, that backed the bill, wrote on Facebook after Noem announced her partial veto.
“We don’t need leaders who lack the courage to stand up to the corporate bullies who want to turn our country into an amoral wasteland filled with compliant consumers,” Farris added.

This victim shit is not going to play very well with the base. She really may wind up topping Ted Cruz after all!
She can still get out of it and sign HB 1217 no matter what it says.
“As we saw with Mike Pence, it doesn’t get better.”
At least Pence knew to drop it, when he saw the fallout.
Ms. Governor should refrain from casting herself as any kind of victim. She’d be better off identifying herself as a fighter.
MAN UP, GIRL !
👍🏼
“They just called what she wrote and said “caving to the NCCA”, etc. That is Cancel Culture.”
Sounds more like accurate reporting, at least to people NOT directly involved with her.
No no no....
She blinked and showed weakness at the hands of the leftist mobs and leftist lawyers....
She promised to stand up and during thre 11th hour she backed the hell down...
She should have signed the damned bill then pressured the state houses to send up a better bill for her to sign to supersede it.
She showed weakness and that is LAST thing you do when standing up to the LEFT!
It aint cancel culture unless big corporations, journalists, celebrities, and ordinary people are making a coordinated effort to call someone a bigoted hater, and completely destroy them financially, so that they could never work again, anywhere.
Screw her for comparing legitimate criticism to the above. She thinks we’re weak and stupid, just like the suits at FoxNews, who thought we’d keep watching them.
MTG and Lauren Boebert come off as warm and genuine. Kristi was always robotic, which is why I was never sold on her.
Mike Pence was the last straw.
If we are ever to get our majority back we need to stop eating our own.
Wrong. If we are to get our majority back we must have an opposition party. Here once again a GOP politician is supporting the progressive agenda.
This battle was won. The bill was on her desk by a narrow legislative win. But the freak trannies and woke corportists wanted this bill stopped and Noem delivered for them. Kristi Noem is certainly not “one of us.”
I expect that this is the last shovel full on her political grave. Toast!
I disagree. I listened to Tucker’s entire hit with her, and he wasn’t listening to her. He was listening to what others had said about her. I started to listen to Bongino’s show about it, but he started out with the Federalist hit piece on her instead of Her actual letter. Just had to turn him off.
Supporting feminist Title IX socialism isn’t conservative. Noem couldn’t go wrong on that decision either way.
I liked her before this so I can give her a second chance but we don’t need any sunshine patriots or RINOS anymore. The time of weak willed republicans is over
“I don’t want to pick a fight I can’t win...”.
The rino battle cry. You can’t win any fight you run away from. How many times have we heard this from rinos? “This isn’t the hill to die on.” She just executed the number one play from the rino playbook.
Yep. For someone who made her way as a “strong independent woman”, claiming victim hood is uninspiring and weak.
I find it quite revealing Noem’s target for attack is the conservative grassroots and not the special interest lobbyists who successfully pushed her to abandon the bill. Noem is apparently quiet comfortable with coporate lobbyists and progressive activists pushing this nonsense. Duly noted.
Kristi apparently missed the lesson on the first rule of holes...
