The curves that keep on curving. Remember the old days of flatten the DEATH curve?
Look at Israel (and UK) to see where we are going with our mass vaccination campaign. By 4th of July, we will see minimal cases of COVID-19.
No, "flatten the curve" was about preventing swamping the healthcare system, based on what happened in Wuhan and Northern Italy. Problem is, outside of NYC, NJ and a few local hot spots, we flattened the curve too much. Hospitals were emptied, non-critical procedures were cancelled, and people with cancer, heart disease, organ failure, and other medical needs stayed home. Nurses, doctors and other hospital staff were furlough, laid off or fired. "Lockdowns" caused businesses to fail, unemployment skyrocketed, and a red hot economy was snuffed out. We flattened far more than "the curve".
Next time we face a “bug” similar to this one, we won’t be “flattening the curve”.
The death curve did flatten and from the looks of it dropped off considerably which is a good thing. You also can see where mass.vaccinations started in early January two weeks later the new case curve starts to plummet as immunity sets in. The other poster is right look at Israel that are the world leader in vax they just got the super rona dropped on them and are locking down for three weeks to vax the other 50% of the population before the much more contagious strain takes a foothold. Smart on them.
