Every statewide partisan officeholder in South Dakota is a Republican. The GOP controls the state House 62-8 and the Senate 32-3 — the largest majorities ever. Yet they can't seem to ban castration of minors or prevent men in female sports as part of the loony transgender agenda. What gives? They are plagued by the same business lobby preventing every other GOP supermajority state from protecting its historic cultural conservatism.

Noem was very evasive and idn’t directly answer many of Tucker’s questions. No criticism of Ama$on but she did sat she won’t be bullied by right wing conservatives.She hasn’t helped herself any.

Presumably, this requirement was included to address a student taking these drugs as a part of a gender transition, but House Bill 1217 is not limited in this way. Rather, if a male student athlete failed to make the football team, and later learned that another student on the team was taking steroids without disclosing it, the student who didn’t make the team would be entitled to sue both the school and the steroid-using student for damages.
In addition, Section 2 creates an unworkable administrative burden on schools, who under its terms must collect verification forms from every student athlete, every year, as to age, biological sex, and use of performance-enhancing drugs; and furthermore must monitor these disclosures throughout the year so that if “reasonable cause” is found of a false or misleading form, the school can take action to avoid civil liability.

Plenty of FReepers today remind me of the Republicans here in Georgia who still imagine they have a winner in Brian Kemp.
This is a battle we could win and the GOP won’t even fight it. The idea biological men should be competing athletically with biological females is totally insane.
Once again we see here that the GOP is a fake party filled with fake people. They spend nearly all their energy duping and deceiving GOP voters. Incredibly, they prefer most of the progressive agenda to the wishes of their voters.
The GOP is a malignant force in American politics and the sooner it dies the better. We need a real opposition party to the progressive-corportist axis and the GOP has proven they never will be that.

Good point - she is actually being smart about this and understands this law will only be enforceable through high school as currently written. Alone against the NCAA - South Dakota would be the ones pounding sand after being expelled. She seems to have more forethought about this than most.

EXACTLY. Trump put a lot of excellent judges on the courts, there is NO WAY to know how they would rule on this, and being so damn sure that they would side with the cross-dressers is pretty dumb on her part.
She’s toast. She backed down.
