Liberalism is in its death throes
American Thinker ^ | 22 Mar, 2021 | Tim Jones

What we're seeing now is modern liberalism reaching the end of the line.

Out-of-control cancel culture, borders open again to illegal immigration, and the Democrat majorities in Congress attempting to impose one-party rule on the country are nothing less than the symptoms of a dying ideology, a contemporary liberalism that has reached its logical conclusion and is ditching what used to work and is instead imposing its radical will and agenda on the entire country. Beginning in the Sixties when a radical form of liberalism emerged, it has been constantly on the prowl for the next victim class to feed its voracious appetite by preying on their sense of victimhood.

First, beginning with Lyndon Johnson and his “Great Society,” it devoured African-Americans through welfare state programs that utterly failed in their original mission. This has served as the template for liberalism ever since in its attempt to capture every possible demographic (except white males) by pandering to their sense of victimhood in a country supposedly seething with bigots and sexists. If you belong to a specific race, gender, or ethnic group that thinks they've been marginalized and discriminated against, vote for a Democrat and your sense of victimhood will magically disappear. The Left has burned through virtually every demographic starting with blacks, followed by women, gays, Hispanics, Muslims, and now transgenders over the course of the last 50 years.

BS.
Utter tripe.
The Left is on the verge of Triumph and KNOWS IT.
Leftist Congress, Leftist Executive, compliant SCOTUS, control of the media, control of academia, control of the courts, control of social media and most internet platforms, their militant arms running wild and unopposed - and this Jones moron thinks the Left is on their last gasp?
The Crazy Years are just beginning folks. Hold on tight. It’s going to a bumpy ride.

Good thing American Thinker no longer has comments or this guy would get laughed off the Internet.

Asians are a minority in the USA, and from my personal observation, most are MODEL CITIZENS.

What you see is not the average from Asia, but the above average, and that supply is limited. A short tour of China would set you straight. Most of the CCP-brainwashed Chinese would not make for pleasant neighbors.

Liberalism is reaching the inevitable end point of conditions it created as the lap dogs of the Left.

Its political children - the indoctrinated generations Liberalism helped the Left create - are eating it alive.

The Left realized this back in 1938. They saw that they had already succeeded in slipping Marxism into the consciousness of the “Liberal”, to the extent that the Left was sure the “Liberals” would enact the Left’s agendas. From that point on many on the Left dropped formal attachment with Communist and other Leftist outfits and went to their new political home - the Democrats. Within another 30 years they pretty much owned academia and helped create the “cultural revolution” of the sixties and the takeover of the media.

Well, that is why we need to fix legal immigration/univs/high tech hiring. I stand by what I said abut American citizens of Asian descent.

you've exhausted the strategy that's worked so well for so long, weird things start to happen, most notably when your victim groups begin to see through it and realize they've been taken advantage of.

Yeah? Name one.

Two undeniable truths help Democrats in their nonstop march towards totalitarianism:

1) Socialism will always look popular to those who think they can get something for nothing.

2) Many people have a strong desire to be a part of the in-crowd.

I do not think the author is correct. Most of the other people responding here see it getting much worse, and I agree with them.

DEMONCRAT Zombie Voters don’t care.

They will check the Box for anyone with a “D” by their name, no matter how screwed up the Country becomes. They seem to enjoy Tyranny while lying about it existing for the past four years.

Like I’ve said before, I’m not sure which is scarier, the DEMONCRATS stealing the Presidential Election or their winning it fair and square.

The underlying internal contradictions are starting to starve the liberal beast because they are totally irreconcilable.

I smile when I read this statement both because it's true and because it's exactly what Marx said about capitalism. Irony is ironic.

That does not mean that the beast is dying, only that it's changing its coloration. What we have here is a totalitarian impulse fed by technical means that have heretofore not been available - consider what Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia would have been with today's surveillance technology. The Nazis and the Communists haven't changed, only their technical abilities.

It will break eventually because every society so constructed has, mostly because the Utopia promised never comes to pass and eventually the ruling minority becomes a vulnerable aristocracy. That isn't quite the situation yet and we might well have decades of misery ahead before it comes to pass. Or not - the same technical means that empower the totalitarians also empower their opponents, who suffer more from disorganization than inability and who are quite as capable of taking advantage of the technological velocity as anyone else. Unfortunately this also suggests that what we gain in brevity we lose in increased capability for violence.

Still, the left marches determinedly toward the cliff and wishes to carry us all along with it. They aren't quite out of transgressive classes to champion yet - pedophilia and cannibalism aren't used up - but they're running short. That ploy isn't the only arrow in their quiver, to quote Nanzi, and so long as they can contrive enemies to crush they'll still have the same model available. Orwell's Emmanuel Goldstein was, as we recall, entirely fictional.

Button up and keep your powder dry. The ride is only beginning.

Most people my age (millennial) speak freely of socialism and say it is cool. Of course they don't know what it is, but that's socialism for you.

"Yeah, I'm a Socialist! Because those old white dudes hate for people my age to be social! Like, they don't even care about the planet!"

Keep in mind that even a dying snake can bite you,
hell, even a dead snake.

I worry that the left will be around until it runs out of everyone else's money.
