Reports are coming in of strong displays of aurora borealis—the Northern Lights—as a surprisingly strong geomagnetic storm strikes Earth’s magnetic field.
“Auroras spilled across the Canadian border into northern-tier US states during an unexpectedly-strong G2-class geomagnetic storm,” said Spaceweather.com, referring to displays late on Friday, March 19 and into Saturday, March 20, 2021.
A “G2-class geomagnetic storm” is a moderate solar storm that can bring hours of bright aurora. There could be even more displays coming this Saturday night and beyond.

We’re all GONNA DIE!!!!!
EVENTUALLY!
I hold my personal record for most consecutive days alive.
What would be a neat trick would be if you had some breaks in that record!
I’ve seen them a number of times in SW Wisconsin, and of course when I’ve been ‘Up Nort’ and in Canada, Eh.
Never fails to be awe-inspiring. :)
I’ll look North this evening - just in case I get lucky again. :)
Hope to see them someday.
This is something we have in common. Every day we wake up, we set a new personal best for consecutive days alive. Thank you, God, in the name of Jesus.

Amen!
I have already checked. Several doctors and nurses have said that you get to keep your personal record as long as the coroner or someone else pronounces you dead and signs the piece of paper required by law. I have tested it a couple of times and I’ll be darned, they are correct, so far.
I recall a time, in the late 50s - early 60s [my aging memory denies me the exact dates, but I was old enough to drive] when the aurora borealis was visible as a green or red glow in the northern sky as far south as Four Corners, MD. It could only be seen where the northern sky was completely dark, but still, that is pretty far south.
THIS is what made Joe fall!
Maybe we’ll get a pole flip?
😎👍
