President Biden came to the defense of his German shepherd rescue dog Major after he caused what the President described as "a minor incident" last week at the White House.
Biden said Major, one of his two German shepherds, was just startled in his new home when he caused what the White House called a "minor injury" to someone last week.
"You turn a corner, and there's two people you don't know at all," Biden said in an interview with ABC's Good Morning America. "And he moves to protect. But he's a sweet dog. Eighty-five percent of the people there love him. He just — all he does is lick them and wag his tail."
"Major did not bite someone and penetrate the skin," he said.
...snop...
After the incident, the dogs were sent back to Biden's Delaware home, because the President said he and first lady Jill were on the road, away from the White House. But Biden said that in the meantime, Major is undergoing some remedial training.

We already know Biden thinks major is a sweet dog. He takes showers with it.

Major and Trainer.
LOL! Chancey Biden!
Worth a thousand words spot on.
Every owner thinks their dog is a sweet dog just like every parent thinks their child is a good kid.
5 Principles of Responsible Dog Ownership (RDO)
Contain, Control, Maintain, Train and Socialize
Who wouldn’t be a bit jumpy around all those demonrats.
GSDs are very protective of someone they feel is weak or unwell. They are aslo protective of older people and dogs. Major either felt threatened or was stressed out by whatever was going on at the time. I’m glad both dogs are out of the WH atmosphere. Leave them im Wilmington you’ve already done the photo op now let them be where they are comfortable!
It has been my observation that owners are more in need of training than the animals in many cases.
Liberals always insist people adopt ‘rescue dogs’ for pets.
Well...there is a reason why most of them were at the shelter to start with, fluffy was fond of eating peoples face!
85% of the people love him? There are really 15% of the people there that don’t. That’s a HUGE number. LOL. I have never heard anything put that way like that. He’s insane.
Heavy, man.
Heavy.
He is being defensive just like all dog owners who have an animal that should be put down.
(Unless, of course that dog was trained to bite people)
There is a reason why many home insurance companies will not insure you if you own a German Shepard Dog. I was almost bitten by a German Sheppard walking down the street in Maine.
The dog lunged at me from eight feet away. The owner had him on a leash and was able to pull him back at the last second.
Before anyone jumps to defend this breed, I will state my daughter breeds and shows Dobermans. My wife and I breed beagles. I have been around hundreds of different breeds at dog shows for over twenty years.
I think you sent me her website once, didn’t you?

Hubby’s been trying to domesticate me for 28 years...but I’m still feral.
:D
I volunteer for a large German shepherd rescue in California and if the Xidens adopted from our rescue we would have insisted the dogs be returned for sending the dogs out of the WH. It is in a standard rescue contract that pets be returned if the adopter will or cannot take care of the pet. I understand the Xidens adopted from a shelter and they do not have the same standard.
The Xidens also would have been put on the (unofficial) national decline to adopt list.
Never fully trusted any herding breed not to bite. That’s pretty much their job.
I’ll bet Major is somewhere off camera during the upcoming “press conference” to provide answers.
With Major out of the White House, I have to wonder who’s actually making decisions now.
Typical dialog:
“C’mon Major, you know the thing! Left paw? Right paw? What do I do?”
So I figure the reason they’ve waited so long for the presser is so Major can be trained up to give answers in alternative fashion.
Some men like their women that way, and some women like their men that way...:)
Old as the ages!
And children
