Uniformed National Guard engaging in a political protest directed at a Congressman, in the halls of the Capitol no less, is another sign the military is being politicized.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene made a comment lumping Guam in with foreign countries which should not receive U.S. tax dollars. ....SNIP...
While Guam is not a state, it is a U.S. territory and it’s residents are U.S. citizens. In perfectly appropriate responses, cookies and books were sent to Greene ...SNIP...
In a totally inappropriate move, Guam Congressman Michael San Nicolas, who is under an ethics investigation, led a group of Guam National Guard in uniform to Greene’s office to confront her. She wasn’t there at the time, but the visual of military-fatigued National Guard engaging in a political protest directed at a Congressman, in the halls of the Capitol no less, was another sign that the military is losing its bearing in the age of Biden.

Yep, what you say is true, but don’t hold your breath that this military will do any investigation into these guardsmen. Afterall, they were insupport of a Democrat. Our “great” SecDef will not be interested, nor will the Army.
Knock! Knock! Moron! Anyone home? A congress man used the National Guard as an intimadation force against an opposition party member! The National guard is now the DNC official body guards and intimadation enforcers. Wake the hell up!
she should have taken the military person to Hank Johnson to remind him
Guam hasn’t flipped yet
Every one of them should be brought up under UCMJ charges.
Stupid idiotic congresswoman deserves it. The guard was teaching said idiot a lesson that typically is learned in 9th grade. Of course you only need to breath to be a congressperson.
She’s our AOC!! Ya! Good grief it’s hard enough without having ignorant lawmakers on the republican side.
I was last in Guam in around 2005. It reminded me of a less affluent West Oahu.
Fun fact:
“The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 expanded the definition of the “United States” for nationality purposes to include Guam, therefore those born on Guam are “U.S. [citizens] at birth on the same terms as persons born in other parts of the United States.”
If you were born in Guam BEFORE The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, you would NOT be a “natural born citizen”.
Also your parents at that time would not have been citizens either.
As time moves on, more and more obstacles to having been a natural born citizen at birth will disappear.
No big deal. Who cares about Guam anyway, since it tipped over.
It is educational in many ways. Most importantly it shows that the entire deployment of National Guard to Washington is just political theater.
If there really was a problem in Washington DC that required armed troops you would call up the troops who could get their quickest, and bring their equipment. Like the Virginia, Pennsylvania, or Maryland National Guard.
There is simply no logical reason to fly troops from Guam to Washington DC except to provide some kind of theatrical show.
The Lefties didn't get all upset and protesty when congressman Hank Johnson worried about the island of Guam tipping over during a hearing...
But the “citizens” of Guam don’t get to vote for President, or have an elected voting representative. So they really are not US citizens in the way that term is normally applied to citizens of the states of the United States. Of course if they move to a state from their territory then they can vote.
They don't..., they have a "Delegate"...
True. But even he seemed to know it was part of the US.
Understood - when you said I was “not correct” that was what confused me.

Indeed!
