Rappers' raunchy performance of hit song 'WAP' at Grammys shock viewers: 'Wow this is on network TV'

Rappers Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s performance of the raunchy song “WAP” during the Grammy Awards drew concern from some social media commenters, who said the song was too risque to show on network television.

“The left is fine with the disgusting performance Cardi B just gave at the Grammys but Dr. Seuss is too dangerous for our children?” Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk tweeted Sunday evening.

The two female rappers took the stage during the 63rd Grammy Awards and performed the controversial song, complete with them entangling their legs on a bed and gyrating on screen. Lyrics of the song include, “I want you to park that big Mack truck right in this little garage,” and "I let him taste it, now he diabetic.”

Host Trevor Noah warned viewers ahead of the performance that it might not be suitable for children, quipping that parents can tell their children “it’s a song about giving a cat a bath.”

At least it’s not “WOP”, then the Italians would have gotten upset.

The Grammys didn't even give Eddie Van Halen a tribute.

This has been going on a long time. In 1958, the Grammy award for Best Country Western Song went to the "Tom Dooley" by the Kingston Trio. Were these city boys really country western?

The award for Best Rock and Roll Song for 1964 went to Petula Clark's "Downtown." Was this tune, set to a slow and gentle bolero beat, really rock and roll? And for 1966, the award for Best Rock and Roll Performance went to "Winchester Cathedral" by the New Vaudeville Band. Yes, it's a good song, but does this ragtime revival novelty belong in the same class as classic rockers from the Rolling Stones, the Spencer Davis Group, the Who, the Yard Birds, etc.?

Whites are Pretty?
Na. Whites Are Perfect.

I still can’t come up with a good phrase for BLM:
“Baby Lives Matter” doesn’t sound smooth enough.
“Baby Life Matter”?
“Babies Love Mothers”?

***It’s a long way from people being outraged at Elvis swaying his hips.***

If you will remember, on the Ed Sullivan show they only showed Elvis from the waist up. I remember it well.

Was this pervy performance any worse than when Miley Cyrus had a stand up lap dance with Robin Thicke and then masturbated with a foam finger back in 2013?

Just askin.

It’s a long way from people being outraged at Elvis swaying his hips.

But my mother warned me it would always get worse from there because humans are prone to try to “outdo” the last guy. My long deceased mother was a great judge of humanity. She attributed it to what she read in the Bible.

Most did. A small percentage of Southerners owned slaves.

I agree with your premise though.
