Just 8.8 million people tuned into the Grammy Awards on CBS this year, a new all-time low for the music awards show, according to near-final Nielsen ratings.
Why it matters: In a sign of how much the pandemic has sped up ratings declines for award shows, the Grammy's ratings were still the highest for any major award show in the past year.
The Golden Globes were viewed by just 6.9 million people this year, a record low. Viewership of the Emmys last September dropped 11% year-over-year to just 6.1 million viewers, another record low. Prior to Sunday, 2006 was the lowest-rated Grammy Awards with 17 million viewers.

It has more to do with Hollywood has become WOKE and demonizing their audience.
They have forgotten their job was to entertain, not moralize on how much better they are then all those mean Trump voters.
So it is simple, they don’t like us, we don’t like them. Guess who gets hurt more them or us?
I hope to see all award shows go back to their roots, which were usually held in a restaurant somewhere and without publicity.

Didn’t watch the program, but did watch an excerpt of Brandi Carlile. Just her with an acoustic guitar, no “auto tune” or other techno crap. I enjoy listening to singers that can sing, like Sara Barellis, Adele, Pink and the ilk.

That one still irks me. That was such total BS. Even more so since Jethro Tull was never truly a metal band. Nothing like snubbing one of the 5 greatest metal albums of all time for some 70s rejects long past their prime.
I was stunned that they allowed WAP and the Rayshard Brooks reenactment/mostly peaceful Wendy's Arson. Gee they left out the part where he stole one of the cops weapons and turned and fired it at the officers.
Why would anyone with an ounce of class or decency watch such obscenities when you can access full concerts of talents like Carly Simon, ELO and Rod Stewart on Youtube?

I have yet to see any media coverage of even one person praising that smut from last night. Everybody thinks it was over the top.
Pop culture is ugly and vile and I have been avoiding it for at least 40 years. And the hypocrisy of women voluntarily behaving like that then screaming that they are nothing but sex objects and disrespected is simply breathtaking. But as usual the left wants to have it both ways; they want their smut and their feminism too.

I agree. Ever since Timberlake and Jackson did that phony breast exposing during half time, I've lost all interest in these so-called pop stars. Actually I started before. There music is repetitious and based on how many dancers they can get to simulate sexual acts. Not that I don't like faux sexual stimulation, but I'd rather watch real porn. EXCUSSSSSSSE ME as Steve Martin would say.
Grammys Really? Twerking your butt is entertainment and award winning? Reminds me of a senile old uncle who thinks he is still sexy and gropes anyone close. Who does that remind you of? Best Song: "I Can't Breathe" celebrating a lowlife who had 3X the amount of Fentanyl in his system to kill anyone, not to mention the other drugs found in his autopsy report.
I will say I hate these back-slapping award shows. Yes, I get to say the word hate. It is basic human emotion. Tough shit you "cancel culture" pricks.

Exactly. Using the 'plandemic' as an excuse for drops in ratings makes no sense at all. By all rights, all of these shows should be going like gangbusters. Instead, they are being actively ignored by all real Americans.
