The best of both worlds. Allie and the Beatles.

Take These Broken Wings And Learn To Fly

(they really need to redesign the guitar just for Allie. You'll see what I mean).

I didn’t know that Beatles song either, though I know well the 1985 song, “Broken Wings”, by Mr. Mister that borrowed this line from Blackbird “Take these broken wings, and learn to fly ...”

Take These Broken Wings And Learn To Fly

~~~~~/~~~~~/~~~~~/\~~~~~\~~~~~\~~~~~
True Story: On my brother’s passing a couple of years back, that song was playing on my nephew’s iPhone (he had his headphones on, and was sitting with my Bro at the hospital). It seemed a fitting song of sorts, as my brother had been handicapped most of his adult life. His broken wings limited him in many ways.
At the funeral service, my nephew played the music and I sang “Blackbird”. Live. In front of people. My first and last official solo. His guitar work was good, my singing, well, ummmm, mediocre at best.
Long story short, the song has a special meaning, as now my Bro is up there flying around freely, unlike his time on earth.
