This is yet another outrage: outrageously STUPID, outrageously detrimental to the children of NYC, outrageously unfair to parents and taxpayers. But outrageous seems to be the norm regarding NYC for the past dozen years--first under Bloomberg, then under DumblASSio. The kids' futures based on what and how they are taught are the least important thing--their indoctrination into communism, activism, being "woke" and politically brainwashed is the thing, you see. This woman has a mere 1 1/2 years in the classroom as a teacher. This would not even qualify her as an assistant principal, let alone a schools chancellor over the whole system. Let's be honest--she was picked by the communist activist outgoing schools chancellor Carranza, Mr. LaRaza. She was therefore chosen for first of all, her COLOR. Second, she has years of experience as a community activist, which in NO way qualifies her for schools Chancellor. You can be the curriculum under her will brush biology, math, English, etc. under the rug in favor of "Whiteness is Bad", "How to hold successful riots", "BLM is a great role model", etc.
Sending your kid to a NYC public school under this big mouthed black activist, a la Stacey Abrams, etc., will be committing murder to their brain. They will learn nothing but hate, bigotry, how to hustle others for money like "reparations", how to be an entitled "victim", etc. The system already graduates thousands of illiterate math-befuddled non-critical-thinkers every year, unable to hold jobs for lack of useful skills and bad attitudes--what do you think will happen under this "activist" without the minimal qualifications in charge of the schools? This is beyond disgraceful.

The only thing she needs to know is how to get money to the Democrat Party.

Don’t know about that. It apparently qualifies one to be President.

This just might be the new normal, at least in the big cities. The last two superintendents in my school district had a combined total of zero years teaching experience. And it showed - all they generated was one failed program after another.
But boy, could they talk a good game.

Right on right on right on. And the same thing is going on with the fancy NYC private schools - even the church schools that used to be quite rigorous, like Grace Church School.
Terrible situation.

A few clicks brings you to the reason. Two quotas fulfilled. Dozens of qualified persons thrown in the trash.

Meisha Ross Porter was a teacher for a year and a half and has not taught since 2003, when she became assistant principal at the Bronx School for Law, Government and Justice.

On the flipside, we need to change the rules that say only doctorates in education can be school superintendents and principles.
