And rightly so.
Beta Male Rock never appealed to me.

He was 19 or 20 and about to marry his high school sweetheart, so he was a little soft in the head. They’re still married, though. Reconnected on FB, and gave him grief that REO was touring a few years ago.

Back in the early 80s, my friend and I use to “cruise the Dual” [yeah, Hagerstown] and I had a wicked stereo system in my *Gremlin*.

She would go on kicks and worship one band or another for months at a time.
And to this day, I am not over fond of AC/DC or REO because that was ALL she played on my cassette player for a solid year.

I thought my wife was listening to one of those grade-B horror flicks this morning...it sounded like queers being tortured or something, but it turned out be Steven Tyler ‘singing’.

Was her name Lori?
:)We weren’t in town very long. Wedding and hitting the bars. Seemed like we crossed a State line every 10 minutes, just driving around.

You might be right...I’ll ask her when she gets home. Mind you, I have plenty of Aerosmith in my collection, but only songs like ‘Back in the Saddle’ or ‘Nobody’s Fault’...his ballad stuff makes my skin crawl. Ick.

There is something that is just really pure about getting behind the wheel of an American muscle car on a stretch of straight, deserted highway.....and just letting her go.

Nope.
April.
That state line thing is why ‘shine runners like my granddaddy did so well here ...til he got shot in the back.
Wish I’d known him.

I'd rather be punched than listen to REO. They weren't all weepy ballads like when that swishy Scot took over most vocals (Get out the flame-throwing bagpipes stat!). This song deserves Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honor:
"Back on the Road Again" (I'm On My Way!)
