The Terrafugia TF-X is worth 7143 Biden stimulus checks. I really want that car. So come on, Joe! Authorize 7142 more checks.

Alas, the 'video' is a computer creation of what the company envisions in their concept.
That is, no real picture of it flying..

There was a flying car in Bond that, aside from the tricked out dashboard, was a real flying car. I’m sure it’s listed in the Fine Article.

To: Yo-Yo
Yeah but:

unfortunately it’s just a car with some clip on wings and a dashboard that converts into airplane dials.
To: Robert DeLong
Awesome.... but imagine for a moment the carnage that would ensue if most anyone could acquire and operate one. Many people can’t drive worth a flip in the first place.

Still the most reasonable flying car concept I have seen yet, if they can actually get it to market. 8>)

They probably wouldn't fly it themselves, if they can't drive worth a flip as you say. 8>)
Again, it will only be for the rich, but it is a very doable concept. Unlike most others that require a runway to take off to become airborne, and a runway to land at to become a vehicle again.
But since a see no place to actually buy it, the concept must be easier to develop than the working reality. 8>)

Pretty CoolI'm skeptical. What do you suppose is the gross weight of TF-X? 300 HP engine, transmission and drive train for surface travel. Batteries and electric motors for vertical mode. Don't forget the generator for inflight recharge, or you won't be landing anywhere. And the actuators that extend and rotate those vertical lift rotors.
Now add actual payload - pilot, three passengers, somewhere around 100 gallons of gasoline.
Starting to sound heavy yet? Heavy enough that maybe those stubby little wings might be inadequate?

NO, it was an AMC Matador. 8>)
To: ZOOKER
That may be why it hasn’t actually made it to market yet. 8>)

George Jetson's flying car not only fit in the garage, it folded up and fit into his briefcase, which he could carry into work.
That's the one I want.

If it needs a pilots license, then is it really a car?
