GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Just a day after Texas rolled back COVID-19 restrictions, including those mandating face coverings in public, a woman's arrest has emerged stemming from her refusal to wear a mask.
Body camera footage released by Galveston police shows officers confronting the woman inside a Bank of America branch on Central City Boulevard. Advertisement
The footage, taken on Thursday, begins with an officer being directed by a bank manager to the woman. The officer encounters the woman who expresses frustration over being told to wear a mask, invoking the state's lifted mandate.
However, the officer is heard reminding the woman that businesses can refuse service to anyone that does not comply with masking policies, which is something that Gov. Greg Abbott still allowed.
After the woman said she wants to take her money out from the bank, the officer tells her to go get a mask and come back to do so.
With the woman giving pushback, the officer says, "Ma'am, listen, we can do this the easy way or the hard way."
"What are you going to do? Arrest me?" she asks. "That's hilarious."
The confrontation escalates with the woman raising her voice at other bank customers, and that's when it becomes physical.
The woman is taken down to the ground and arrested.
You can watch the full encounter in the video player above.
Police identified the woman as 65-year-old Terry White, who was arrested on a charge of resisting arrest and criminal trespass. Officers added she sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

:: just like no shoes in a restaurant. ::
THAT has the authority of law and regulation.
Once the mask mandate was lifted, refusing service becomes a policy of discrimination.
But they don't for some reason.
Hmmmmm....
Time for some lawsuits.
Note to businesses still pulling the mask BS: Lawyer up.
businesses can refuse service for no mask.
.
Don’t disagree, but my guess is she opened her account under a different set of rules i.e. no mask. Their rules changed hers didn’t. She should be able to withdraw under the conditions at the time.
She’s about to take a lot more money out of the bank.
I left BoA years ago for being complete sh*t heads. I tried to deposit a very healthy overtime check and they said it would be three business days before I could use the money. When I asked why they said it was because it was so much more than my usual deposit. I got the check back, closed out my account and went elsewhere.
I’m looking for my old Lone Ranger mask.
I’ll see what type reception I get when I stroll into the bank wearing that.
I mean it is a mask, right?
I’ve seen no specifications on the specific type of mask, just a mask, or bandana, or tshirt pulled up, or the entirely gross spectacle of people wearing men’s underwear on their head.
Insanity by any other name is the new reality.
Until people starting dehumanizing themselves and hiding their identity behind a mask going shoeless into a restaurant would, at most, result in not being seated or served ... not being thrown to the ground, handcuffed (if not tazed) and arrested.
Lesson: Mandated masking -- particularly of healthy people -- causes normally decent people to to inhumane things to others.
When Bank of America became informants for the Democrats after Jan 6, I began closing my accounts there and have not just about completed the process.
Her lawyers will own a chunk of Houston and that bank before this is over.
Traditionally in Texas law enforcement frowned upon people who used masks to make bank withdrawals.
After those not legal withdrawals, the Texas Rangers often got involved.
But they don't have the right to say "go elsewhere to buy a custom cake that celebrates your sodomite lifestyle".
I don’t really see anything wrong with this. A business is private property, if she didn’t want to follow their rules she should do business elsewhere (and you can transfer money out of a bank online). The cop gave her a chance to leave peacefully but she didn’t listen, so he used reasonable force to arrest her. If there was a crazy 65-year old banging on the front door of my house and refusing to leave, I expect the same thing would happen.
Of course, the solution would have been too damn easy. So it's better to allow hundreds of thousands see the videos of what this companies lunatic policies have done, as they wrestle 65 year female customers to the floor, injuring them then caging them for not wearing a 25 cent mask. It's pure insanity.
What about a plastic face shield on glasses frame ?
Protects the eyes, nose, and mouth, and is clear, so the person can be identified.
I was in a Bed, Bath, and Beyond today and forgot my mask, but they didn’t have what I was looking for anyways.
So I was just about to leave when a very nervous, very young employee offered to get me a mask. I told her I forgot it but I was leaving anyways because they didn’t have what I was looking for.
Something didn’t register with her because she offered to get me a mask again. I repeated, a little more irritated, that they didn’t have what I was looking for and I was on my way out anyways.
Then I turned around and walked out the door I was 20 feet from.
Sheesh.....
Lady’s motor home wouldn’t fit.

The better thing to do is to understand that God made our immune system wonderfully and if we work with our bodies we are much better off than trying to avoid a politically-induced, media-enhanced unseeable enemy.
Doctors who honor the immune system have suggested certain vitamins like D3, zinc, C and A. I have taken those for nearly 30 years. I take them every day now, but before the so-called pandemic, I would take them during cold and flu season and when I traveled by air. The result was I did not get sick when many around me were getting sick. My kids went away to college, they took their vitamins and they were the only ones who did not catch colds.
So, if the immune system is honored and supplemented it will respond by keeping you well. And no masking is needed.
