GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Just a day after Texas rolled back COVID-19 restrictions, including those mandating face coverings in public, a woman's arrest has emerged stemming from her refusal to wear a mask.
Body camera footage released by Galveston police shows officers confronting the woman inside a Bank of America branch on Central City Boulevard. Advertisement
The footage, taken on Thursday, begins with an officer being directed by a bank manager to the woman. The officer encounters the woman who expresses frustration over being told to wear a mask, invoking the state's lifted mandate.
However, the officer is heard reminding the woman that businesses can refuse service to anyone that does not comply with masking policies, which is something that Gov. Greg Abbott still allowed.
After the woman said she wants to take her money out from the bank, the officer tells her to go get a mask and come back to do so.
With the woman giving pushback, the officer says, "Ma'am, listen, we can do this the easy way or the hard way."
"What are you going to do? Arrest me?" she asks. "That's hilarious."
The confrontation escalates with the woman raising her voice at other bank customers, and that's when it becomes physical.
The woman is taken down to the ground and arrested.

Police identified the woman as 65-year-old Terry White, who was arrested on a charge of resisting arrest and criminal trespass. Officers added she sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Interesting, cause I went into my dr office, in Texas, for annual checkup wearing a mask. I realized I was the only one wearing a mask and promptly took it off. No one, nurses, drs, staff or patients were wearing masks.
If the woman was an illegal alien, this goof cop would not have done anything. It’s open season on real Americans.
No hats? What about Muslims with all the face coverings? Did Bank of American ban that too?

True. I’ve been told by Sprouts market and KFC to put on a mask or leave. No problem. I left, since there are other options.
Arguing with a customer is just dumb. People are confused by mask rules, since mask rules are stupid. Just give her a mask or ask her to wait outside while a clerk helps her. She can easily get a new bank. B of A has a bad reputation for fining customers for the strangest reasons.

I no longer speak English to mask police - it’s hilarious when they first speak louder and slower. Usually they walk away while I’m explaining to them in German how my dog ate my mask.
I get it. You could tell immediately by his voice, ordering her like was she was this big public threat who was capable of great harm while standing in line at a bank. Pathetic.
I’ll bet this POS is bragging to all this friends down at the station how he single handedly toys this resisting criminal down.

This is another example of why the police have little value. They are a threat to the very people who hire them.

My dentist doesn’t like the masking so I was lucky there. I found that Kroger’s and Lowe’s never made a big deal about me not wearing a mask. Guess who going to get my money from now on.

At 87 I'm past the easy take-down capability... Back when I was 75 and 60-pounds heavier, a different story...

First I hate BoA.
Second you can be dead right but dead wrong. There was a lot of that going on all the way around and still is.
Some banks will not allow people to walk up to the drive through to do business there.
You have to drive up, somehow.

We might as well get used to it, corporate America is not our ‘friend’.
The best part is that no one can prove the mask offer any protection even the CDC. But people can be brought to the ground brutally and imprisoned for not bending the knee to a futile gesture.
