We don’t call them donorcycles for nothing.

Like most that can afford hyper powerful cars, no ability to operate them near potential.

At least most geezers that can afford Porches drive like a Priaps would suffice for. Same with Corvettes.

So very, very sad, and need not have happened. Prayers for this woman's family. The grief must be unbearable.

My son made it safely through this phase in his Pinto station wagon that took 5 minutes to get up to 60 mph.

If he was going downhill.

Why are people so stupid? Years ago, I worked with a man - not directly, so I did not know him well - and he had a son who was the apple of his eye. Upon graduation from high school, he bought the son what we used to call a “crotch rocket.” A motorcycle, in other words - a fast one. Within a week of that gift, that boy was turning a corner a few miles from where we used to live and he died within a few hours. It was awful watching that man at work after that. He was never the same. A ghost of his former self. Just broke my heart.

would it be less awful if the father had bought the kid a used sports car? Or are we supposed to be especially upset that the car was expensive?

Dad may have a divorce in his future. Per the article, mom was against junior getting the Lambo.

It’s a liberal world now. Don’t worry, the kid will be just fine. His dad will get him another Lambo of his choice. Those other little people will just have to move on or take the settlement.

Silly of me to think that they only made race/ sports cars. Every day, learn something new.

I think the company actually got its start with farm tractors.

Boy, “17, was behind the wheel of a Lamborghini...”

Big mistake by the father. Just give the kid a nice F150 truck.

My first car was a truck...1966 Ford Bronco. Had a snowplow. Learned car mechanics on it, you could sit under and between the block and chassis rails and do repairs, change the oil, etc. My pronoun is “She” and all I’ve ever bought were trucks (except splurged and bought a convertible Volvo C70 to take my Mom to dialysis in.) Other trucks were about 3 F250s, couple of Rangers, and a F450 and F550, hence my name. It was unusual for females in the late 70s to have trucks, I was truckin’ from way back :)
