It looks as if we're being pushed inexorably towards vaccine passports, even though there's no reason to believe they'll make us safer.
Although I know verification of health status is a reasonable condition of entry for countries, I am dubious about the fear of COVID as a cause for new conditions for international or domestic travel.

Leaving faith aside, I worry that just like the other damaging restrictions various governments have implemented, tying travel to COVID vaccination status is too disruptive. People like me won’t be able to travel at all if this becomes the norm. As a consultant, I travel constantly, and I lost out on significant income in 2020 due to government-imposed restrictions. The incentive to feed our families will pressure millions of people to get vaccinated even though they don’t want to.
Further, local businesses could require proof of vaccination to access their premises. All over the world, hotels customarily hold foreigners’ passports while they stay. It is not very farfetched, given the overblown fear of COVID, that businesses such as theaters, stadiums, and just about anywhere people gather will start requiring people to “show their papers.” We can have it noted on our driver’s licenses just to make it a little easier than carrying two documents, or perhaps there’s an app for that.
Regardless, now there is one more reason for the government, big tech, and others to track and restrict our movements. If you don’t believe that all of them will end up abusing this, you’re simply too young or too frightened to face the truth.

Why would governments want to control people’s movement? And what level of trust should be placed on CDC, FDA, WHO,...?
Since criminal Mexicans can enter my country with COVID and TB and measles, I should be able to do anything.
There is sort of assumed right within the Constitution that citizens can freely move between states. My understanding is that the text does not necessarily spell this out in a perfectly explicit way. But the right is assumed, and always has been. If anything can be said to be “in the penumbra” of the Constitution, it is this right to free travel, rather than abortion.
But, I suppose the government will just take the right away and no one will do anything about it. Because we are mere peasants with no actual rights of any kind.
Since the vaccine is being used for nefarious reasons and not to prevent Covid, then I would say that the intent is to ultimately force it onto everyone who isn’t part of the “elite”. The “elite” are taking a fake shot.
FYI, try being in a herd of cattle shipping across any border. Ear tag id, brucellosis and Tuberculosis testing, and an official Certificate of Veterinary Inspection ( health certificate). Testing required Unless going for slaughter.
We must not accept this. FCOL, you could get the China flu leaving the passport office. I will never live in a “show me your papers” country. Anyone who goes along with this is a fool.

I’m not going anywhere. My people have been here for generations. Longer than Madam Speaker’s or Slow Joe’s families by a long shot. If people allow the US to fall, then so be it. I am not going without a fight. And I mean a real fight. And I’m not showing anyone any damn papers either.

Facing reality, we already require vaccination passports. The CDC, by edict from Fauci, has already stated how much “congregating” will be allowed for those already having the vaccinations, those not having them are implicitly excluded. Airlines are already discussing how to deal with passengers not having vaccinations. Busses are excluding illegal immigrants from entry without proof of being virus free.
Once these exclusions are generally in place, it will not be acceptable to simply state you are eligible, proof will be required. That, by definition, is your passport.
I’m guessing that the price for a fake vaccine ID will be much less than a fake passport. At least in the beginning.
The importance of passports has been a big deal for awhile now and have all the security measures imbedded in them. A vaccine ID at first will be nothing more than a photocopy of a receipt for the vaccine.
One will need it to buy/sell.
I’d buy a fake ID without any moral issue.
Our high school band had a European concert tour in 1971. At that time we were required to all get a small pox shot. I was to later find out it was the last year they were required. We each had our passport and yellow vaccine book.
Either they are totally inept at arguing the virtues of liberty...or they don’t believe in it any more than their collectivist counterparts.
One of my main reasons for getting the COVID shots is exactly this.... you will soon need to show your vaccination card to get on a plane, enter a federal building or even go to the gym. However, illegal aliens will be exempted.
yes, for many things you will need your papers. Eventually it will fade, but things like cruises, concerts, certain restaurants, etc.
Exactly. Even this REAL ID stuff is a joke. We all know that no border illegal in this country could possibly show all that verification. So why do we?
