Are they going to bury him or are they going to toss him out the window of the hearse on the way to the cemetery?
Hm. Somehow that was funnier in my brain.

I thought CDs were an absolute Godsend with superb sound quality and instant changing to any song.As a live music guy I can say CDs weren't that great. If you listened to a first or second generation of a concert track recording and compared it to the CD digitization there really was no comparison!

Used the higher quality cassettes, plus a Norelco cassette recorder/player. Worked great.

The casket will probably get wedged in the hearse and they’ll have to use a pocket knife to pry it out.

We used to break the tape and throw the cassette out the car window while hanging on to the end of the tape. It would unspool for what seemed to be a mile and keep dragging and bouncing around. It was a riot on the interstate.

"Loved my cassettes"
Then came the day your favorite cassette jammed in your player, rendering both useless.

It’s probably a pain pairing it with your Super-8 I’d imagine.

Yeah. That was the mental image I had when typing my little thought.
Couldn't quite get it to translate.
But then, most of the thoughts that pop into my brain would be better off left un-posted.
One day I will be able to discern which thoughts to post and which to not. But it is not this day.

“Not much better than the dreaded 8 track tape.”
From a sound standpoint it was worse. 8-track using 1/4” wide tape running at 3 3/4 ips vs cassette tape using 1/8” wide operating usually at 1 7/8 ips. Less surface area per second of music.
I remember when cassettes came out. From a practical standpoint they were nice but I could tell the audio quality was not as good as 8-tracks.
Of course 8-tracks had their own problems as we all know.

I remember those days. I'd have my cassette recorder sitting on my nightstand right next to my clock radio and the second a song I wanted to record came on, like Nights In White Satin, I would jump up and hit the play/record buttons and tape it.
Yeah. That sounded great. Felt like you were right there in the recording studio.

I bought a reel-to-reel recording of Beethoven’s 9th. Nothing ever topped its sonic quality.
