The little video clip at the link is higher quality than the two gifs below. The post asks the viewer to imagine what it was like to face a mounted Mongolian archer 800 years ago. I believe the sound track to this clip is traditional Mongolian music. The combination was quite effective in my opinion.
He's a Mongol, they shoot from whatever side of the bow they want......
?????
I watched a video of a fast archer, shooting from the ‘wrong’ side.
He lit off a handful of arrow very fast, and accurate, and while doing gymnastic gyrations.
He was demonstrating the ‘ancient’ way that we think is wrong.
Why the stirrup became one of the most revolutionizing inventions in warfare
Perhaps

How come was their PHONES so big??
The trick of turning around in the saddle and firing backward at the pursuer was perfected by the Parthian archers that used it against the Roman cavalry. They would first attack the legion and then feign a retreat causing the Roman’s to mount a full pursuit. Once they were committed the Parthian’s would turn and destroy the Romans shooting backwards.
It’s actually become a figure of speech. A “Parthian shot” is a quip or insult that is thrown over one’s shoulder as you leave the room.
The theory that american indians were actually mongols who crosses a land bridge between Russia and Alaska area 10,000 years ago makes sense.
—
and no it does not make sense, as there are numerous sites in NA that date to 130,000 years BP and in SA some go back to 300,000 years BP.
Haplogroup and mDNA say otherwise to the Mongol theory ... Many tribes have nothing in common with Mongols and more in common with the European Red Paint peoples as well as Denisovans
That’s why the Amazons, according to legend, removed one breast so it wouldn’t interfere which their archery. “Amazon” may even mean “Without breast,” but that’s disputed.
A mini gun would come in handy.
Too bad for then that they hadn't yet domesticated the horse. As it was, they waited another 9,700 years for Europeans to bring horses.
I think those are solar panels.
My Professor says Mongols were leading the way in fighting Global Warning back then.
But eventually they began to self-identify as Frenchmen and so white flags became their weapon of choice over bows and arrows.
He/She/They/It told the class that we will be shown the Mongol's full Gender history and it's impact on Western Europe's white privilege in our next class.
My daughter adopted from Far Eastern Russia has a mix of Scandinavia/Russ ancestors and central Asian (Kazakh/Uzbeck) genetics...and more neanderthal genes than 96% of the generally tested population
We always thought she was half Chinese...but no
Per 23 and me!
Hmmm, interesting fact.
So, if a Baby is being bottle fed, It is being "Amazoned".
Or something like that ....
Actually they left the other breast for that purpose.
Outer Mongolia is an independant country.
Inner Mongolia is a province of communist China.
I believe
LOL, WHY does that sound so much like a "Far Side" cartoon???? (or a Mel Brooks "History of The World" sketch...:)
