Buckingham Palace was under pressure to respond to allegations of racism within the highest echelons of the royal family following an interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that threatened to have a devastating effect on the reputation of the monarchy.
In the most shocking disclosure, Harry and Meghan described how someone within the household had asked about how dark the skin tone of their baby son Archie would be – with the US chatshow host Oprah Winfrey clarifying later that neither the Queen nor the Duke of Edinburgh were behind the remark.
But the couple’s refusal to identify the family member in their damning TV interview leaves other royals open to suspicion.

It was all a setup. Meghan hinted at racism, Oprah acted confused, then Meghan came out with the “what color will the baby be” and OPRAH put on her shocked face, her mouth came open like a sea bass gasping for air.
But who was setting up whom?
FWIW, I think Markle blindsided Harry with that allegation. If so, wonder if she did it intentionally or if she was shooting from the lip?
It’s another reason I think the Harkles are Smolletting.
It makes Harry a traitor and a fool.
I suggest making a call to MI6.
It was “ collusion”. The first hour was just Meghan, and she was the hammer, keeping Harry out of the really nasty stuff. Then Harry came out of the chicken coop and he did try to tame it down, knowing the damage that was being done to his family and monarchy.
The real tell is, Oprah was trotted out the next morning to clarify that the Queen and Phillip were not involved in baby colorgate. Why wasn’t that done during the interview?

Note to the UK: if you want this problem to go away, out the Harkles as tax cheats.

The last Stuart monarch died in 1714 (not 1500s). At that point the Hanover dynasty ascended and ruled until 1901. The House of Saxe-Gotha and Coburg came next, and due to anti-German sentiment changed the name to Windsor. Prince Charles, if tradition is allowed, will become the first of the Mountbatten (Battenberg) dynasty. I say “allowed” because the Queen has ruled that her son will remain a “Windsor”.
Now that I think about it, this mess is starting to remind me of the Cuomo situation.
Criminality and national security issues (ex: Epstein, dealings with Iran) don’t end the monarchy.
But the Harkles’ accusations might??

Guilt by association? That's not how it should work. The one issue has nothing to do with the other. A family member with intellectual curiosity could have speculated about the genetics of an expected child in a way that could have been a positive or joyful anticipation, but which Harry and Meghan are turning into a weapon for their own perpetually self-victimizing reasons, having been coached by the Obamas and Oprah.
What is not easy to see is the role of the Royal Family in British governance and culture, and how significantly it differs from American assumptions. There's nothing to be gained by re-fighting the American Revolution against the nation that has been our firmest global ally since the mid-1800s.

The skin color thing is a curiosity, because recessive genes can make a variety of skin/hair/eye colors in any mixed family. That doesn’t mean that whomever may have inquired about it was badly intentioned. The DailyMail often runs stories of mixed-race black/white families with twins, where one twins looks black and the other white:

The only “pressure” is from CBS and Oprah to give her 7 million soap opera “legs”. Without it this dies away and the 7 million was a waste.
