Similar story here-
Three kids. First two Christian School K-12. Not anti-Christian, but not walking in the faith either, and neither are any of their old classmates. One is hard-core leftist, one is leftist with libertarian leanings.
Last kid- homeschooled K-12, conservative all the way.
Wish I would have homeschooled the first two! It would have saved tens of thousands of dollars, too!
Take the economic problem to God. We started a Christian school with a handful of parents. We were able to teach Bible and Biblical values. We had to be very careful with our budget. However, we are benefiting from the investmen. It seems
Lot’s daughters went to public schools. Horrible consequences. I really can’t Biblically justify public schools.
You are too right. I whole heartedly agree that each and every person who is ever allowed access to children in a church, or church group, or as a teacher must have a strict background check.
NO ACCEPTIONS. I even believe they should be doing so for Sunday schools, and for church nurseries.
Pedophiles target churches because they so easily act like children at heart to lure children in.
Oh PLEASE. The test scores are such BS, as our level of education is FAR BETTER than those other countries.
How do I know? Easy, we spend twice as much (or more) on education than every other country listed.
So, nice try!
Yes, I was shocked myself.
Yet, did you know that 80% of Israelis are atheist?
Plus, most who claim to be Jewish, they are by birth only. They cannot tell anything about their ceremonies, their laws, nor anything. They are secularist Jews, who claim, I’m Jew, of course I believe.
Kind of like when you ask a person what their faith is. they figure, I’m born in America, of course I believe. After all, I celebrate Christmas.
Many Jews don’t get it anymore than most who claim to be Christian.
LOL, exactly. You get. It’s about my fun not my children future.
You really need to educate yourself on what’s out here in homeschool world. Just about everything you propose already exists! Coops (mom’s rotate subjects) and small groups, plus an abundance of online video (live and/or taped) all meet the goals.
There is no fixing government schools. Defending and closing them should be every conservatives goal.
They are not fixable because those with evil intent will always find a way to infiltrate and corrupt them. To save your children, homeschool.
Yea, besides, if the scores drop. We’ll just give more money to the Unions. That always fixes the problem. /s
“LOL, exactly. You get. It’s about my fun not my children future.”
Yea, there are things more important than our kids. They need to learn that they are NOT the center of the universe and if dumping them in public schools lets me buy that nice, new, shiny, trunk - we’ll they can take remedial classes when they get to community college.
Amen. That is exactly what I am talking about.
When we trust in HIM, we will always come out omniscience’s top.
Always.
Yes, thankfully I was in Christian schools for my 1-12 experience. My sister, OTOH, rejected Christian schooling and wound up in government schools.
She is the disaster of my family.
Yea, we actually do have people saying that we have nothing to worry about from China or Russia, since we spend so much more on our military than we do. I haven’t heard that regarding education, but why the hell not, if we so sure that dollars equates to higher quality.
Well, it needs to be repeated time and time again, because I know many who are clueless.
So If I am repeating what is out there, then good.
I’ll keep doing so, until everyone wakes up to it, because I have people ask me every day about it.
I know it’s crazy.
Gee, I don’t know why my teeth are rotting away and why I keep scratching at my face.
Let me smoke this meth, I’ll figure it out, This stuff always helps me think. /s
You know we have a serious problem with understanding what is important in America when more and more storage businesses keep opening up. And more and more children end up in food kitchens after they graduate from college.
Respectfully disagree. I have homeschooled friends who had one parent, others with two parents, and they were below poverty level. Probably far below. And others who had two parents and 8 or more siblings, yet their moms managed to homeschool them.
If a parent truly desires to homeschool, it can be done, even with no job.
Now, if two parents are both working, chances are they're working to pay a mortgage on a house they couldn't afford to buy with cash, and to pay for a loan on a car they couldn't afford to buy with cash, and to pay their credit cards they used to obtain things they couldn't afford to buy with...cash.
And those two parents probably think their house and car and stuff are higher priorities than their child's education.
