I remember a 60 Minutes episode from back in the 80’s (I want to say) about the jazz pianist, Eubie Blake. Blake acknowledged that he began smoking at the age of 5. He was 95 when the episode aired.
I lost a dear friend to lung cancer. She started as an adult. My best friend of 45 years is addicted to chew. His father smoked and lung cancer got him. I get tired of seeing butts everywhere while EVERY SINGLE SMOKER out there claims they don’t throw their butts on the ground. I have no patience with smokers and even less with the drug pushers who make up the tobacco industry.
Smoking since he was FIVE?? lol lol Oh wow that is unreal. That’s like my grandma, she started smoking when she was 10 and stopped when she was 64 and lived till she was 100 and her sister if you can believe it who rarely smoked died of emphesyma (is that how you spell it?) when she was 72
In the fwiw department, Lt. Governor Richards of VA died of lung cancer and never smoked a day in his life.

No, I don’t smoke, can’t stand cigarette smoke, and don’t ever let anyone smoke in my house or vehicles. But it’s not to me to decide. There isn’t an Eleventh Commandment, “Thou shalt not smoke.”

I’m surprised Rush didn’t have himself checked often for the cancers associated with smoking. Wouldn’t his lung cancer have been caught with tests?

As an adult, I get to choose my poison and so did your friends.....Sorry for your loss, you may not like their choice but it was theirs to make, not yours. They weren’t helpless.

People can smoke away to their hearts delight for all I care so long as I don't have to breathe the second hand smoke or live with it.
There is a close family member of mine that is made up of heavy smokers. I can only spend limited amount of time in their home before I have to get up and leave. The smoke just hangs in the air and everything in the home from the walls to the light fixtures are discolored with a hazy yellowish film. And while ashtrays abound, sometimes they are missed. So you have telltale burn holes in carpets, sofas and whatnot. But I never lecture this family member. I don't consider myself superior as a non-smoker. It's just not my thing.
I like to go to casinos too, where smoking is generally allowed. At least the casinos have first class air purification systems in them so it's not as bad. But eventually, our eyes get to burning so we have to leave a little sooner than we otherwise would have. Yes, they have non-smoking areas in casinos but my wife swears that they tighten up the slots in those areas! Anyway, the upside there is we usually don't lose too badly in those places as we never stay long enough to blow the whole wad.
My brother had two dogs die of lung cancer. Not sure how they held the cigarettes. (no smokers in the house)
Vaccines are known to give animals cancer. One of my cats died from this.

This is all funny as hell. The same people bitching about the intolerance of the left, are now showing their intolerance to smokers because they know someone who died from cancer. I’ll lay money they all know more people that dropped dead from heart attacks and tell the story while shoving potato chips down their pie hole.
