A cougar will never out run a 240 gr swc ...

The running section of the test, CORRECT.
This is a multi-part test.

Situation awareness? Perhaps consider traveling with a dog.

RT (Reaction Time)? Mine can be measure on a kitchen clock.

Body tremors when stressed? After a hard exercise (HIIT) at max heart rate, I’d put my hands in ice water and towel off, salty sweat bad.

About one minute after max heart rate of 167 dropped to ~120. and in my personnal 15 Meter range.

Sight picture? YOU COULD BECOME SEASICK JUST FROM LOOKING!
Many train to time heartbeat and trigger pull.

Training level? More is better, never too much.

And many more variables... Miss one and you fail the test.
NO RETAKES.

“Situation awareness? Perhaps consider traveling with a dog.”

Saw a video a while back about a guy who was jumped by a big cat while hiking a trail out West. It knocked him to the ground and he said there is no way he could have gotten it off his back by himself.

His dog was the hero. It was ahead of him on the trail and turned back when it heard the ruckus. It tackled the cat and treed it nearby.

I live in cat and bear country. Id take a cougar over a bear any day. A bear is as fast as anything in short distance and 300lbs of pissed off bear will trump 130lbs of pissed of cat. I live in the very northern panhandle about 3K elevation and town is 12 miles away.
