We’re not going to back down to the woke mob, we’re not going to back down to the cancel culture, we’re not going to be told what we can say or do.”

Josh Hawley's right. We're not going to be rolled by thugs on the left anymore...

I hope so too. Trump is a very positive person and has a positive vision, and I hope that’s what he focuses on in the CPAC address this afternoon.

We need to take back the GOP from the infiltrators. Join your local precinct and you pick who we vote for. They usually meet once a month. It's a civic duty we have neglected for far to long.

*************

People close to me have worked inside various national GOP organizations. Based on their knowledge and experience it is my firm belief that outsiders will never be permitted to take over the corrupt GOP. The reasons for this are complex and require an understanding of how the Swamp works but trust me, this is reality. The GOP may be weak and feckless but it knows how to defend its turf.

I appreciate your view with respect to local actions; on the surface it makes perfect sense. However, the behind the scenes corrupting influences in DC are extremely powerful.

You may want to check out the political thriller movie Miss Sloan. Its a bit dramatic and overdone in some respects (its Hollywood after all) but it does a fair job of exposing the machinery of Washington and the insidious forces that control politicians. Unfortunately, being a movie produced for entertainment value it wasn’t able to fully explore all those forces in depth.

I’m listening... what do you suggest?

***********

First, think of the GOP (national level) as a corruption machine whose function is to convert the incoming stream of Republican politicians into being “team players” who become dependent on financial and other support from the national organization. Its a little Mafia-like in the sense that it sucks people into the system with incentives and then demands loyalty from them.

Second, ask yourself what the GOP stands for. The answer is nothing. It doesn’t really have any consistent principles or convictions. All they do is try to gain and hold seats on the Hill. That’s all they do, and it enables the party apparatus to keep money flowing into it. They are not committed to shrinking the bloated government, reducing spending, or even defending our liberties. If they were, this would be reflected in their actions, which it isn’t.

If you accept the above propositions the futility of sticking with a fake party becomes obvious. The GOP is what it is and its never going to change. Party functionaries at the state and local level may be well intentioned folks who try to send the best prospects up to Washington but once they get there the indoctrination process kicks in. Good people are turned into sleazy people after they become absorbed into the heady world of DC politics. Trust me, once they make it up to the “big show” and get inducted into the “family” they change and never want to leave. Keeping their seat and climbing the ladder of seniority quickly replace any good intentions they may once have had.

My view is that we need to replace this corrupt conveyor belt with a party that is dedicated to conservative principles. I know...Trump declared he doesn’t want to start a new party and would stick with the GOP. But consider that he never understood just how vast and deep the Swamp really was. (I worked there and know exactly how it is.) I don’t think he still realizes what the true nature of the GOP is.

A new party, like a new nation, needs a foundational set of principles. We have an opportunity to do that now. Actually 75 million opportunities. Despite the obstacles I think that if a new party was launched it would decimate the GOP overnight. I mean, do you know anyone who is happy with the GOP and would be willing to remain with it when there is a more positive alternative?

When something doesn’t work its time to replace it. That’s what our Founding Fathers did.

Good people with good intent can be used by bad people with bad intent. This is true if there is a new party or not. What we seem to be missing is the leadership needs to be turned over. Not an easy process but it can be done.

We have a winner takes all system. Which means it's a two party system either the republican party must end for the new one to form. Only Trump could do that at the moment. If Trump isn't willing to do that we must reform the GOP leadership from the grass roots up.

I don’t believe the Republican Party can ever be reformed. Its too entrenched in the Ways of Washington.

Changing leaders will be like moving deck chairs around on the Titanic. The fundamental problem as I see it is that the party has no vision, guiding principles or ethical foundation. Its a soulless party devoid of convictions.

We need a party that is committed to certain principles and a set of well defined objectives to give it purpose and serve as guard rails to keep the party focused on its mission. Everything the party does should be driven by those principles (e.g., reducing the size of government, restoring federalism, cutting spending, making government accountable, etc.).

We need a party with focus, determination and resolve to fight what is shaping up to be a long existential battle for the soul of the country. The GOP simply isn’t up to the task IMO. I just don’t see the party suddenly turning itself around into an political force that will tirelessly fight to restore conservative values because it never has.

Trump notably refused to mention McConnell yesterday. Everyone knows he’s a horrible leader. He and Ryan tirelessly fought Trump and defended the Swamp yet the GOP allowed them to stay in their positions. Same with Liz Cheney. The GOP firmly backed her with a 145-61 vote. Again, we see the power of the GOP to defend itself.

I will be happy to admit I’m wrong should the GOP miraculously reform itself into a formidable conservative force. But I think its a safe bet that isn’t going to happen.

We're in the start of the next great awakening. Some equate it to a spiritual reform. What we've witnessed in this election can't be unseen.

I hope you’re right. I really do. But we will need more than an awakening. The Dems are tough and determined. They also control the government and every institution.

We need to develop a new crop of fighters (like Trump) who aren’t afraid to mix it up or suffer abuse at the hands of fanatical liberals. Wars are only won by strong people. Right now, we don’t have that.

This is going to be an epic struggle that plays out over a long time. With the notable exception of Donald J. Trump, conservatives don’t seem to elect tough, principled leaders. We need fearless warriors who are committed to something bigger than themselves and their own political longevity.

yes we need to make sure this election and the events before and after are NEVER forgotten. It took about a century for the three great awakenings to manifest. With better communication then they had then we might be able to cut the time down a bit
