We need to take back the GOP from the infiltrators.

People close to me have worked inside various national GOP organizations. Based on their knowledge and experience it is my firm belief that outsiders will never be permitted to take over the corrupt GOP. The reasons for this are complex and require an understanding of how the Swamp works but trust me, this is reality. The GOP may be weak and feckless but it knows how to defend its turf.
I appreciate your view with respect to local actions; on the surface it makes perfect sense. However, the behind the scenes corrupting influences in DC are extremely powerful.
You may want to check out the political thriller movie Miss Sloan. Its a bit dramatic and overdone in some respects (its Hollywood after all) but it does a fair job of exposing the machinery of Washington and the insidious forces that control politicians. Unfortunately, being a movie produced for entertainment value it wasn’t able to fully explore all those forces in depth.
