Germans have started to feel worn-out by the coronavirus lockdown. Psychiatrists and psychologists have warned that a further extension could have severe long-term effects on society and mental health.
After weeks of snow and subzero temperatures, there is a touch of spring in the air in late February in Berlin. Thousands of people are out on the streets. In busy areas, just a handful wear masks. Although nonessential retailers remain closed and eateries are only open for takeout, long lines snake outside every coffee shop, artisanal bakery and outdoor food market.
It would be easy to forget that Germany has been in lockdown for nearly four months and strict contact limits remain in place. And the lockdown is no longer working: COVID-19 cases have begun to rise again, and experts say Germany is heading into the third wave of the pandemic. The vaccine rollout is going slower than in other countries like the United States and the United Kingdom and the spread of virus variants is on the rise, most notably the more contagious B.1.1.7 British mutation. According to a survey by German broadcaster ARD published on February 19, while a narrow majority still support restrictions, 27% of Germans believe that current coronavirus rules go too far, up 5% from two weeks earlier. Only 16% believe that coronavirus restrictions do not go far enough, down from 24% in the previous survey. […]

A virologist-researcher studied covid samples. 1500 samples. He found was Influenza A and B, but no covid. He sent his samples to other researchers at other university labs and they got the very same results. They called the CDC asking for covid samples. The CDC said they had no samples of viable covid. These researchers have concluded that there is no covid, there is only flu, and they are now suing the CDC:

Germany? We are in covid induced lethargy. It is the excuse for everything from late mail to getting death dates cut on headstones.
Working from home is a joke. Most people are not responsible enough or honest enough to do it effectively.
We are retired, mid-day during the week used to be the near exclusive province of the retiree at Sam’s and so forth. No you see working age couples and families there in significant numbers. These are groups of people that used to be in school or at work that are now “working” or distance “learning” from home. They are doing little of either.
We are creating a huge hole of progress that will last for years to come. Productivity has gone to hell in a hand basket.
Who is that guy? Virtually all Corona diagnosed is really flu? That would be the conspiracy of the century, lol.

Better question - is the CDC being sued by those researchers? That would be interesting to find out.

Here in my part of Florida, restaurants are packed as usual.
Customers cars get parked in the grass and in the parking lots of other businesses.
The poster that said that all that is required is the will to get back to business is 100% right.
Pent-up demand is incredible.
My Democratic neighbors will fly in late March to help their youngest daughter move into her brand new $500,000+ house. In fall, they’ll be off to Spain.
