The latest publishing news has set a tune running through my head: “Anything Bill can do, Hill can do better....”
Settle down, nobody in the Clinton family is running for office. The news, announced Tuesday by publishers Simon & Schuster and St. Martin’s Press, is that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has collaborated with bestselling mystery author Louise Penny on a novel. The political thriller, State of Terror, will be published in October.
The book, according to the news release, is about a novice U.S. secretary of state who joins the administration of a former political rival inaugurated after “four years of American leadership that shrank from the world stage.”
According to the publishers’ synopsis, “A series of terrorist attacks throws the global order into disarray, and the secretary is tasked with assembling a team to unravel the deadly conspiracy, a scheme carefully designed to take advantage of an American government dangerously out of touch and out of power in the places where it counts the most.”
Clinton won’t be the first in her family to co-write a political thriller. Former President Bill Clinton teamed up with another bestselling crime fiction author, James Patterson, to write The President Is Missing. Published in 2018, it became the bestselling adult fiction book of that year; it has sold more than 3 million copies.(snip)
Penny is the award-winning Canadian author of 16 novels about the soulful and intrepid Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, most set in the picturesque little town of Three Pines in Quebec. The latest is All the Devils Are Here, published last year.
Clinton has said in interviews that, in the aftermath of the 2016 election, she found solace in reading Penny’s novels (also in chardonnay). The two have been friends for several years.

“Hillary Clinton, Louise Penny team up for fictional ‘State of Terror’”
The prologue begins with ...
“In 2016, an evil Orange Man, with the help of the Russian government, stole the American presidential election from a highly qualified female candidate....”
Synopsis of the book goes to show her state of insanity. It’s laughable...so you know libtards will eat it up.
Think of all the truly talented writers the publishing houses overlook in favor of publishing cheap garbage from washed up politicians.
They figure now the only way to keep the books from being remaindered at Costco for 99 cents is to add a popular mystery author!!
A state of terror is the result of Hilldawg in office.
Just think how many people used her book as toilet paper during the early days of the Covid virus when TP was a premium.
In this novel, does the Secretary of State kill everyone who gets in her way?
Just asking for a friend who likes realistic novels.
Given what they have done in the 2020 election, I think they are going to be surprised with the public’s response to any terrorist attack in the next four years.
I don't know...the Koran was pretty rough...I doubt this literary masterpiece would be printed on decent paper.
I'll pass.
On wiping with it or reading it.
I want as little as I can to do with the nasty harridan.
Thelma and Louise team up again
I’d rather wipe with a rabid wombat.
I’ve been a big fan of Louise Penney... No longer. How do I get my money back for Kindle purchases?
What’s really strange is Louise Penny’s books are FANTASTIC! When I found out a while ago she’s a Hillary lover, it put me in a bad mood and I considered not reading her latest book, but couldn’t stop myself and it was as good as ever, no political stuff.
I highly recommend Louise Penny’s Inspector Gamache series, if you haven’t read them, start at the first one, they are FANTASTIC.
But I’ll skip the Hillary Clinton one for sure.
...with the help of stupid hicks who didn’t know how to pull the right lever!
That’s hysterical! Poor kid!
I can’t wait to read the part about influence peddling, using private servers, and then destroying all the hard drives, cell phones, and deleting emails.
“State of Terror”....what her employees experienced working for her in the West Wing.
Neither one of them wrote anything, their participation was for money only, not creative output.
She’s Hillary’s lover, oh my, shades of Patricia Cornwall here!
