Prince Harry's 'unhelpful' decision to pour his heart out to James Corden has already caused 'disquiet' at Buckingham Palace after the Queen's grandson insisted he and Meghan Markle 'never walked away' from the royal family by emigrating to Los Angeles - and blamed the media for driving him from the UK.
The Duke of Sussex said the move to California last year was about 'stepping back rather than stepping down' as royals as he appeared on The Late Late Show with Mr Corden, who has gazumped Oprah Winfrey to the exclusive 17-minute interview with his British friend.
The Duchess of Sussex also makes a brief appearance on the show during a FaceTime call, revealing her pet name for Harry is 'Haz', while her husband calls her 'Meg' throughout and reveals that his grandmother bought their son Archie a waffle maker for Christmas.

Sounds like they wanted to "step back" from the responsibilities and negative publicity of being in the royal family but not "step down" from the privileges and positive publcity. And why is Mr. Windsor the "Duke" of anything anymore? He doesn't get to pick and chose from the royal buffet.

“Stepping back” for a Royal is basically moving out of the palace to one of the more obscure manor houses owned by the crown, and leaving the public spotlight, as many other princes and princesses have done.
Engaging in a highly-publicized row with the Crown, and stomping off to Los Angeles in a huff, then couch-surfing with some of Hollywood’s biggest names, is not “Stepping Back”, it’s “Stepping Out”.
The press in the UK drove him away, but he can’t get enough attention from the press in the US.
Harry needs to grow a pair and admit he’s being used by his narcissist wife and is too wimpy to stand up to her.
She’ll be a baby factory until she has him trapped and and a nice big paycheck for yourself for life.

I have often wondered about such titles. I know a duke is higher than, say, a baron, but what practical difference does it make these days?
Does a duke get a bigger discount at the palace gift shop? Or is it all just meaningless show?
