Total Vaccine Doses Delivered: 91,673,010

Receiving 1 or More Doses: 46,074,392

Receiving 2 Doses: 21,555,117

(Excerpt) Read more at covid.cdc.gov ...

TOPICS:
KEYWORDS: moderna; pfizer
For the 24 hours since the last update:

Doses Delivered: 3 million - a big day, making the biggest weekly total yet.

People Receiving 1st Dose: 837,000 (a near normal day)

People Receiving 2nd Dose: 948,000 (a strong day)

3 million doses delivered and 1.8 million administered is a strong daily performance.

On hand inventory climbed to a strong reserve level of over 23 million doses - ready for a surge.

Pfizer and Moderna are supposed to sustain a newly increased rate of delivery of 13.5 million per week (combined total) - and likely ramp up further later.

Johnson & Johnson looks strongly on track for Emergency Use Authorization this weekend. The FDA recommended approval, which is the major hurdle. An independent committee is scheduled to review that recommendation tomorrow (Fri, 26 Feb).

Authorization could be issued over the weekend, with shipments beginning next week. 20 million J&J doses are expected to be delivered by the end of March, and 100 million total by the end of June.

CDC reports that 18% of Americans over the age of 18, have now received at least a first shot (about half of them have already had their second).

Over half (12 million out of 22 million) of Americans over 75 have received at least a first shot (5 million of them have already finished their second).

Wow... This post is not for the “vulnerable” population.

Am I the only one who trusts their own immune system over this experimental shot with fetal parts and only God knows what?

And all for something that is 99.9% survivable.

Such strange times we now live in...

My husband and I were scheduled for our second vaccination tomorrow, we live in SC. We received a notice this morning that our appointment was cancelled due to shortage of the vaccine and would be rescheduled within 42 days, (weird number)) It was fine with me.

My aunt is part of the “vulnerable” population.

She will not get the vax. She doesn’t trust something that was rushed through and will put her faith in God, her immune system and her care of it.

She told her friends, who can’t wait to get the vax or hae already, that now they are saying people might have to get three doses.

They are all like, “Okay, if that’s what it takes. If I have to get ten, I will.”

She asks them why if the vax works, we all will have to still wear masks social distance. They either say she is wrong— no one is saying that or that it’s better to be safe than sorry because no one knows how effective the vax will be

She asks why risk unknown later side effects of a vax that “they” aren’t sure is effective.

They think she is crazy.

She doesn’t get them. It’s creating a wedge.

I told her to get new friends.

I think it’s slowly dawning on her that that’s what she needs to do.

42 days is the new guideline from the Federal Government for the second shots (it used to be 21 days for Pfizer, 28 days for Moderna).

They likely mean 42 days from the first shot, not from today.

They still try to do second shots on the 21/28 day delay, but they now have official leeway up to day 42.

If your aunt does not want the vaccine, then she should be be ready to respond quickly to any initial symptoms, should they develop.

Vitamin D, Zinc, vitamin C; at the bare minimum.

Ivermectin, although a prescription drug seems to be reasonably easy to get (some have purchased veterinary versions from Amazon, just in case). It is not expensive. Ivermectin seems effective as both prevention and treatment.

My father, her brother, is older and even more vulnerable due unfortunately to never having been an exerciser, among other things.

He won’t get the vax either.

Their sibling is a different story. She’s upset with me because I refuse to tell them to get the vax.

So, she’s not talking to me.

I am fine with that.

My world is getting increasingly smaller, but I think that is true for many of us.

I wish there was some easy way of adopting new relatives.

She knows. I have the horse paste. She listens to me after I cured her of an infected hair follicle.

She has rarely had a cold in her life, so I’m not too worried.

The largest ever peer-reviewed study of COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer) was just published yesterday: https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3937734/posts

It was over a million people in Israel.

Bottom line: It confirmed the high effectiveness demonstrated in the large scale trials in the USA and elsewhere.

As far as vaccines go, these are on the high side for effectiveness against the disease.

For example, I had measles twice, after having been vaccinated. Yet the vaccine has pretty much wiped out measles in America.

I guess the concern is about safety of the vaccine. In my view, I don’t see safety data that concerns me, but that is the big concern that many here have.

Even if (when) the number of cases crashes in society, due to herd immunity and widespread vaccination, COVID-19 will not go extinct.

It will become a low incidence, endemic disease - likely persisting for decades.

The risk of infection, and potential death, will remain in those who are unvaccinated. These vaccines are nearly 100% effective in preventing death from the disease.

Freeper lightman recommends taking tylenol with the second shot, to reduce side effects.

Most people who experience side effects from the shots (hangover-like or flu-like symptoms), experience them only after the second shot (shows its working - the immune system mobilizes strongly).

Generally, a few hours to a day after the second shot, it is best to plan on just relaxing, especially if you are older. A lot of folks, including folks in their eighties, don’t really experience much from the second shot, but it is still probably wise to not schedule any commitments.

And many people never get vaccinated for the flu and live to 95 and die of something else.

I and mine will take our chances with the ‘rona rather than with any little surprises with the vax down the road.

I am fairly sure my father and I had it.

Except for the profound tiredness for a few days that was not like what I’ve had before, I’ve had far worse colds.

Considering how many allergic reactions I’ve had to drugs and other things, as has my father, we are not risking it.

Best to figure that from about the 9th hour after the injection until about the 36th you might not be good for very much.

Tylenol will mitigate but not eliminate.

About 10 days after my first injection I had gout like symptoms and pain in joints where I’d never had pain before. Today was day 13 after the second and so far, so good on that front.

“I am fairly sure my father and I had it.”

The antibody blood test is only good for the first month or two after an infection, to confirm if you have had it or not.

By some estimates, 1/2 to 2/3rds of the population may have already been exposed.

“Considering how many allergic reactions I’ve had to drugs and other things, as has my father, we are not risking it.”

Allergic reactions is probably the single biggest contra-indication for these vaccines. Although the absolute numbers are not high (between the standards for Emergency Use Authorization, and full authorization), that is the most well established potentially serious side effect (for both Pfizer and Moderna). The UK recommended that those prescribed epi-pens for severe allergic reactions not take the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The “good” thing about allergic reactions though, is that they will manifest in minutes to a few hours. If you make it past that, you are in the clear.
