Shouldn’t a woke company appropriating the tribal name, “Apache” be consumed with replacing the name and paying exorbitant homage for the offense it instigated?

True, they should not be hypocrites, and immediately change their name to nutless wonder or something

The "Apache" name for the software came about as an in-joke, unrelated to the Indians of that name.
The original release of the webserver was not stable, and needed constant application of updates, called "patches". Someone remarked that it was "a patch-y webserver" and that became "Apache webserver".
