Over thirty House Democrats are asking President Biden to consider renouncing his authority to launch nuclear weapons.
In terms of alternatives, the two California Democrats suggested a number of options.
One would be to require that the vice president and speaker of the House of Representatives concur with the president’s decision to strike.
Another option would be requiring certifications from the secretary of defense that the strike order was valid, as well as the attorney general that it was legal.

I’m not as worried about Joe Biden having the power to push the button as I am about future Presidents not having that power. or even Joe for that matter. Russia has hypersonic missiles now. There can’t be any democratic process involved in the retaliation process or there will not be a retaliation-there will just be a wiped out America. He has to retain this power.
Nanzi would have to fire the missiles to see if the codes really worked....

Terrible idea. If he can’t perform his duties remove him. DO not under any circumstances move power that belongs to the commander in chief to multiple people.
One good shot might jolt a La Palma landslide, which would take out the entire east coast of North America. East of Cumbre Vieja, opposite from the slide, would also take a major hit.
Probably the communists will choose Stacey Abrams to carry the briefcase and AOC to make the final decisions on which blue state or county is the primary target...
