Might mean something if they posted seasonal flu sts along side each column.

Is it that difficult to understand that Covid countermeasures will also reduce the incidence of flu? I listen to people crying about how there’s no flu and I swear you sound disappointed. Do you really think Covid is the flu? Are you that dense?

This is so utterly bogus now. No one really believes any of this, even if they publicly say they do.

How can you say “counter measures” work for the flu (no flu now) but not against Covid (omg there’s mucho Covid now). Explain that mystical magic to me.

There's nothing mystical or magical about it. The flu isn't as transmissible as Covid in the first place. Countermeasures will be doubly effective against the flu (probably more than doubly actually) and they have been effective at countering the spread of Covid. They didn't stop it but they certainly slowed it down.

Look at what we have done to stop Covid. we're all wearing masks, keeping 6 feet between us, staying home at the first sign of illness, checking temperatures at the front door, asking people if they have had any signs/symptoms of viral illness, not congregating in large groups, putting cough/sneeze barriers up, sanitizing our hands and surfaces repeatedly, having Zoom meetings, reducing inter and intranational travel, mandating that employees get the flu shot, etc.

Given that the Flu is possibly 10x less transmissible than Covid, it really shouldn't be surprising that we aren't seeing much flu this year.

Hey, don’t give the control freak maskholes any ideas. Or all this will be permanently “for our own good”

The conspiracy theory that masks and social distancing are the reasons why we have less flu but more covid (based on the false assumption that Covid is “more transmissible” than flu) is pure hogwash.

The ENTIRE rationale for requiring masks, distancing, and lockdowns upon HEALTHY people (for the first time in human history) and not SOLELY on SICK people, is BASED ON THE THEORY THAT ASYMPTOMATIC PEOPLE WILL TRANSMIT THE VIRUS on others. Well, guess what, the CDC has just shot that theory down....

There’s asymptomatic and there’s presymptomatic and you would have to be dumber than a box of hammers to think that all the extreme measures we have taken against Covid wouldn’t have an even greater impact on a less trsnsmissible virus. My employer literally mandated we get the flu Vax this year. It was not an option. and look at everything else we have done. Of course this is why flu cases are down.
