Bright and early yesterday morning Mr. LINCOLN arose, and rapidly disposed of his early callers, his TIMES and his breakfast, for he was to start en route at 8.15. The time of departure was at first fixed for 9 o'clock, but changed to an earlier hour in consequence of the anticipated delay at Jersey City, owing to the reception by the Common Council. It was deemed necessary to depart from the original programme in order to avoid interference. Mrs. LINCOLN and children reached the special train by a private conveyance.

Promptly at the hour named, Mr. VAN RANST was at the door with his stylish carriages, the Presidential party was safely stowed, and without further formality than a cordial shake of the hard to the few personal friends assembled to bid him adieu, Mr. LINCOLN took leave of the City.

At the Jersey City Ferry, in anticipation of his coming, crowds lined the passageways to the boat, the John P. Jackson, on which were collected the Mayor and Common Council of Jersey City, and a number of privileged persons. As the carriages were driven on board, DODWORTH's fine band struck up the National airs, congratulatory cannon boomed out a parting salute, and while the boat moved off the multitude sent up their parting cheers, and the shipping in the harbor displayed their national bunting. The Canard steamers were decorated with the American colors, and at intervals of one minute guns were fired alternately from the two vessels. The steamship Granada, passing at the time, also fired a salute.

Mr. LINCOLN was soon requested to alight, and was escorted to the ladies' cabin, where were assembled the high dignitaries of Jersey, the Governmental and Railroad dignitaries, who were to do the honors.
