A suspect fatally shot two people at a gun store in a suburb of New Orleans on Saturday afternoon, and the shooter also died during gunfire as others engaged the suspect both inside and outside the outlet, authorities said.

Guns and ammunition are sold in the front of the outlet that faces a main thoroughfare through Jefferson Parish. Customers who want to frequent the gun range generally go around to the side entrance of the building. Staff who work there often wear a sidearm.

I’m guessing the perks to hanging around a gun shop is to get in some quick draw practice and target shooting. Sounds too exciting for me but I know a few that might like it.

PSO sources say that a man entered the gun outlet with a loaded gun unholstered.
Sources say that the man got into an argument with a clerk who told him he should not have a loaded gun until he got inside the range.
According to JPSO sources, shots were fired during the argument when at least two customers on the range engaged the man.
The man was shot, but also fired back at the two customers who were also injured, according to JPSO sources.
At this time, Lopinto said it appears a suspect shot two victims inside the location, then was engaged by the two customers and shot outside the location by multiple other individuals.
The suspect is one of the deceased on scene, according to Lopinto.
There is no place more dangerous for a criminal than a gun store, almost everybody is armed.
At our local gun store all the clerks are armed, mostly with Glocks and Kahrs. Any idiot who would mess with them would be quickly wind up in the hospital or the morgue.
The Gun shop is right down the street from me....there has to be more to this animal that carried a loaded firearm into this established range and gun shop....My prayers go out to the two fatalities in the shop. The perp not so much.
I was in a gun store in Tucson once when they got a heads up from the police that an armed robbery was imminent and help was on the way. There were so many armed men hanging around out front and inside that apparently the democrats called it off!😎
At least there’s an “armed citizen” part in how this was resolved.

I am not all that surprised.
A Liquor Store in Texas and many other States. I was armed every day I worked, that was every day we were OPEN Mon-Sat, 10:00 - 21:00. A 1911 7+1 and 6 spare 7 Round Mags, 50 is a nice round number. For second backup I had available a Ruger P85 MK-II 9mm 17+1 ready and 2-35 Round spare Mags ready to rumble should the need arise.
One of the Owners ask if I wanted a Shotgun. I told him I didn't see the need for that plus I didn't want to chance damaging the Inventory with a Scatter Gun. Besides I asked just where did They think I was going to Carry it ? They kept one in the back Office anyway.
The store was right on one of the only roads leading to that side of the Lake. Nice area but with the Highway right there... Ya never know when that one scumbag might be driving by and snap.
