There is nothing inherently evil, morally wrong or inappropriate for a family, with the resources, to get out of a house with no power in the middle of an ice storm and go to someplace warmer.

I seriously doubt if the Cruz kids were “cutting classes” - Their “Elite Private School” was probably closed for the time they were away. Spring Break is coming soon. As to the offended “Karens”, my guess ii that they have also taken their kids to stay at resorts costing $300/night or more.

BTW, most of the better hotels/resorts in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, etc., are providing COVID-19 testing for their guests prior to their departure so that they are certified COVID-19 safe before boarding their flights back home.
