The 1st time that I ever heard Rush was on a Saturday afternoon just after Three P.M. I had just finished my shift. It was likely around 1990, but I cannot say with certainty. It was likely in the 80s, but I dunno.

I used to work 7-3 on Saturdays for years, and the first thing that I recall him saying was something about people just getting out of bed. That made me laugh as I was getting ready to go to my other job which was an 11 hour shift. I realized later that I was listing to a prerecorded program.

My first impression was that he sounded a bit gay, but he made me laugh.

So I tried to find out who he was, and it soon was evident. I listened rather regularly for years. I recall him speaking about ‘America Held Hostage,’ and he had some sort of countdown. Of course I despised Clinton, and Rush had a microphone, and he expressed Me so very well.

I was unable to watch his TV Program because of that 2 jobs thing, but one time I did see it, and I laughed heartily as he mocked the fireplace on the TV. I cannot explain it, but it struck a chord.

Of course I could write lots about my impressions and appreciations, but I am just one among many. I just wanted to Post something.

R.I.P. Rush.

2 points I would like to make.

1. I watched the entire clippings some if the commercials and loved every minute of it.

2. About halfway through there was a tall slender woman wearing pearls who clearly was as infatuated with Rush as much as I am now infatuated with her.

Thanks for posting. I watched the whole thing.

It was fascinating to see the perplexed faces of those liberal women in the audience encountering conservative arguments for the first time. They wanted to pigeonhole Rush, but it was obvious even to them that he did not fit in their pigeonholes.

A tour de force.

Did smirky Phil Donahue even notice how badly he lost their exchanges?

Thank you for sharing this one. Phil D was absolutely overshadowed by Rush. I forgot how childish and annoying Phil was....what an ego, he just looked broken by Rush as the show progressed.

Phil is reduced to "fat jokes" and "10 reasons why Rush can't get laid."

Rush exudes confidence and clarity. 41 years old.

Rush fought fearlessly in the arena of ideas at the TIP of the spear.

He was our Champion.

He taught us well. Now we have to pick up the mantle and carry on.

That is the first time I saw him. Donahue didn’t know what to do with him. Rush was awesome and funny.

I do believe that without Rush we may not have recognized Trump.

That is spot on with steroids.

Trump is in a way is Rush 2.0.

I’d add Buckley to that list.

Found him when I was in middle school. Started watching him because of his weird accent, kept watching because of what he was saying.

Difficult to watch, as one must also endure the pompous nature and sheer rudeness of Donahue.
I forgot what an unadulterated ass Donahue was...and at the time I was too young, self absorbed and uninformed to realize. So grateful I eventually “woke up” (God now you can’t even use THAT phrase w/o sounding like a lib)
Thank you for posting this most joyful video....joyful because we get to see the Master tame one of the nastiest “commentators “ and expose the left to their smug, condescending faces live and in person. God I miss him.

We went to Rush’s tv show in NYC. He was fearless. It was a lot of fun.
