Shepard Smith?

The only way he’d be on a motorcycle is bouncing on the back of the seat holding on for dear life to some other guy with his hands on the controls.

Shep likes motorcycles because the vibration in his crotch gives him that special feeling.

OMG, does anyone remember the motorcycle chase a while back where the guy got up to 115 and then took an exit ramp and got hit by a metro bus? I was watching that live and couldn’t believe it, thinking, “I just watched that guy die!” The impact literally ripped his clothes off. I think he survived it, though... at least long enough to get arrested.

145 on a Busa or ZX-14 feels like 80 in a car, fairly stable. The light poles do whiz by pretty fast though.

Non-bikers have no idea just how fast modern bikes can be. And very stable and controllable at those speeds. I have a mere 1050Tiger and even with my wife on the back it’ll creep up to 110 easily and comfortably on the Interstate if you aren’t careful. A Busa or H2 is in another universe.

It’s still a moronic thing to do off a track.

At 120+ you are going to jail. But lots of fun and g-force thrills blasting off at interstate ramps. WOT-WOT and you hit 100+ in seconds never getting out of 2nd gear. Brakes are equally as good so can drop back down quickly to legal speeds. Donut eaters with radar have a hard time getting a lock on you if you ramp up and down that quickly.

My only experience with this type of speed was back in 1995, on my 93 FXR. On the straight path between Richmond and Virginia Beach on an empty Rt 64, I opened it up, went past 110, felt the “Wobble of Death” and backed off.

It was exhilarating, but I will never attempt such a stunt again.

Still riding the same bike though.

PS. I am an Widowed old lady now. Been riding for 49 years.

I was driving across two suburbs on a loop interstate with my son in the car about 30 years ago. I looked in the review mirror and saw a car coming up at about 110 mph.

It was late at night and he was being chased by cops from two jurisdictions for an armed robbery. They were determined to catch him and had KC cops rolling with lights out about five miles ahead of him setting up for a stop.

He went into a wide median area and got stuck trying to get around the road block and accelearted-spun trying to get past a pair of cops with guns drawn. I whipped onto the outside shoulder to get past where the gunfire would occur and he was shot dead about ten seconds after I got past the event.

Years ago I had a buddy that was somewhat addicted to occasional high speed on his bike. He talked about it as a drug-of-choice he was trying to get free of and finally succeeded.

News people are soo stupid...he’s really pushing that bike at 120mph??? Thats nothing on most modern 600cc sport bikes.

Today’s liter bikes have 180 HP and can eaily hit 190-200mph.
