Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) says he has “no defense” after his old tweet mocking California power outages have resurfaced as millions of people in the Lone Star state have lost power in their homes due to large winter storms.

In before the Cruz h8ters.
A politician that didn’t make excuses for a failure. Rather refreshing. Now fix it.
Well in this at least he’s honest.

Ted, were YOU responsible for putting failed green energy on the grid? If you were not, you need apologize to no one.
Yeah...that Ted Cruz sucks because he made fun of hipsters. I’m not sure, but last time I looked he has ZERO to do with Texas energy policy.
Oh, I have your defense
Texas is experiencing an extraordinary event not seen in 30 years
California, OTH, is a broken system year after year that lacks capacity and redundancy or resilience for conditions which are persistent throughout each year
Exactly. Ted was and is still right in ridiculing California for their power outage problems. Because what happens in California is and was deliberate and planned.
Texas may not have another winter catastrophe like this for another hundred years. But I have no doubt that officials will make sure this type of emergency never leaves millions of people without power ever again.
Maybe about this, but not about President Trump being responsible for the riots or not proving voting fraud.
Bingo. But the MSM, Dems and a lot of Repubs are too stupid to see the difference
Okay Ted,
You’ve admitted your mistake.
Now what are you going to do about it is what matters?
Wind and Solar are only good as backups.....
That’s why I specified.

:)
There is no defense. The Republicans have solidly dominated Texas politics since 1995. Bush was Governor, the Rick Perry, now Abbott.
The dismantling of Texas formerly reliable coal fired grid and the move to the ugly and undependable windmills and solar happened under Perry. (Abbott was his AG)
T Boone Pickens sold them on this, they all got wealth and power, and they screwed Texas.
Here’s a defense: the same sort of green energy nonsense has been advanced in both states. The huge investment in wind and solar was folly, and should have been seen as such before this cold snap because both are unreliable.
Would it not be reasonable to expect that a large winter storm could impair both? Certainly. But the possibility of any disruption was constantly downplayed by those pressing alternative energy.
Now, a further defense would be that much of California’s problems lay with two more areas not shared by Texas.
First, while Texas may have misallocated effort by building wind and solar we have at least been trying to keep ahead of the curve, where California has issues simmering for decades.
Second the mismanagement of California’s forest have created fires that further exasperated their power grid problems. This is not a problem Texas has had, even in East Texas.
Well, we Texans have got a good look at the future being pimped by Hop Sing Pedo Xoe Xiden and his little toddler idiot, Gretal Turdburg. Regardless of what the maggots at abc and MSN are trying to pimp, their phony ass windmills don’t work. Sorry.
“A politician that didn’t make excuses for a failure. Rather refreshing. Now fix it.”
Very refreshing.. Admit there is a problem, then fix it. Yes
Well said.
I would hope California gets its act together, because it is a beautiful state.
what a refreshing idea. not trying to justify what you said
