Places with highest daily reported cases per capita
Seven-day average of daily new reported cases per 100,000 residents
Alaska has ended its emergency declaration. It’s normal ops where I live. Not to mention, we never had a mask mandate.
So here is the dilemma for the Biden administration:
The numbers are plummeting — both new cases and deaths. Between the vaccine and herd immunity, the virus is dying out. And the Biden administration will desperately want to take credit for it. For doing basically nothing, but we all know how that goes.
BUT, they can’t take credit for the demise of the virus and stoke fear at the same time. And have no doubt, they want the fear to continue, and from that fear to come dependence on mother Government.
So... how to play this? It will be interesting to watch.
I wonder how much of this is just a combination of people staying indoors during the worst of the winter and the masking/social distancing, self quarantining countermeasures? There a mini-blizzard outside my front door. I ain’t going anywhere unless it’s real necessary. Makes me think that once we get into early spring and the people start coming out of their caves, we may see a resurgence.
They'll have Dr. Fauci warn us of "dangerous" variants out there (somewhat true but mostly exaggerated) so we will see blue states continue their semi-lockdowns. Teacher unions won't return to the classroom until all the children are vaccinated.
