It’s important to know both what we know about the new vaccines and what we don’t know.
I’ve practiced for 35 years. I am always honest with my patients, even if conversations are difficult or confrontational. I will also be honest about saying “I don’t know.”

What do we know about the new TYPE of vaccine being given?
Pfizer and Moderna were the first COVID-19 vaccines to be approved. Both use a new technology called mRNA vaccine, which has never been broadly given to a human population to prevent any disease.
Let that sink in for a moment.
All previous vaccines take a weakened virus or a piece of the virus and inject it into humans to induce an immune response sufficient to prevent a disease. Pfizer’s and Moderna’s vaccines inject mRNA, which is a protein code that instructs the body to make a part of COVID-19’s spike protein that will then induce an immune response.
Our bodies daily use our own mRNA to carry instructions from DNA to make various proteins the body uses. While this new vaccine science sounds intriguing, it has never been tried in humans in this scope. It may be a breathtaking scientific advancement heralding a new path for all vaccines. It may also be less effective or have currently unknown side effects.

You’re absolutely correct. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Back in the late 90s/early 2000s, in the early part of my career we were regularly courted by “drug reps”. I had my textbooks purchased by them in my first year of grad school, was taken to a private dinner in a wine cellar with 7 of my buddies where we dropped THOUSANDS of dollars, and a night on the town during a conference I attended - again to the tune of thousands. All to persuade us to choose specific drugs for use in anesthesia. I was in my early 20s and totally caught off guard by this. I was dating an internal medicine resident at the time who drank a $400 glass of scotch provided to him during a “drug rep dinner”, which he attended literally a minimum of 3 nights a week.
What went on was ridiculous. Then when people started to crack down, Big Pharma just had their lobbyists ensure they were legislatively protected. Obamacare tied reimbursement for doctors into the use of certain medications, specifically vaccines. Why do you think hospitals started mandating their staff be vaccinated against the flu under penalty of termination? It’s not because they’re so altruistic. It’s because the Affordable Care Act directly tied hospital reimbursement rates into the level of staff compliance with flu vaccine.
I hardly recognize the health care industry anymore. It’s sure changed since my first clinical rotation as an undergraduate nursing student in 1995.
I'm still against taking ANY vaccination for Covid-19, but Novavax's will be the ONLY one I take as long as it's not a mRNA type.
I’ll roll the dice on my own immune system, which I supplement with Vitamin C, Zinc, and Vitamin D3 every day. Hard pass on this unknown witches’ brew.
I have figured the same thing and you and my virologist BIL reinforce that view. Add to that my doc who took the mRNA vaccine and says he wishes he had not now recommending I hold out for the J&J vaccine as does my BIL, if anything at all.
First do no harm. Some say this is a semi-proven vaccine based on work done in HIV etc. I have not seen any trials of those either. As the article mentions, if a vaccine for corona virus were this easy why hasn’t the common cold been vanquished?

I followed, on twitter, a couple dozen world-class scientists early in the scamdemic, read their linked studies and articles religiously, and realized early on that the CDC and WHO are flat out lying. They are NOT on our side. They are propaganda sources, same as the msm. The CDC filters information like google.
They are politicized, staffed with mediocre people, terrified of making decisions, and generally laughed at by serious scientists—the ones who are brilliant. They are a giant government bureaucracy, dysfunctional, slow, and cannot be trusted.
For every significant, recommended action they published during this Scamdemic, I’ve read the studies they link to as supporting documentation. Without exception they are garbage, easily discredited by dozens of other published articles and studies. Which I’ve also read.
They are as biased, dysfunctional, and politicized as the FIB. And should be trusted as much.
HCQ and Ivermectin are safe, plentiful, and cheap; used worldwide for years. And dozens of studies, listed in several meta-analysis published papers, show they both are VERY effective at significantly lowering the risk of severe Covid-19. There simply is no credible science saying different. 90% of the world should be on them. It’s not scientifically disputable. But the politics, massively funded by Big Pharma, and a very well funded disinformation media campaign have prevented the truth from being widely known.
Just like masks, which Do. Not. Work. Period.
In a just world, thousands would be in jail for these world wide conspiracy crimes. And millions of innocents would still be alive. The CDC and WHO did more damage, to more people, than the Nazi war criminals, and are still at it. Look around: It will take generations to recover the damage done.
None of what I just said is hyperbolic. It’s the truth.

Took 1/4 of the first one 10 mins later. Waited 2 hrs, took the remaining part. Wanted to make sure no side effects first.

I, for one, am very thankful for the medical professionals who come here to educate those of us who don’t know much about medicine. I’m thankful that they take the time out of their busy days to shed some much needed light on these discussions.
Yes. There are a some docs that do take time out of (what I’m sure are) their busy schedules, to post from time to time, about pros/cons of various treatments, preventatives, etc. ...as well as general topics.
It’s the daily, throughout the day (lol) that I scratch my head about.
Particularly when it’s primarily on China virus/experimental shot “vax” threads.
To me it looks like they care about people enough to get the word out as frequently as they can that this vaccine is what is going to stop the virus.

Are you saying you believe this vaccine is what is going to stop the virus? That’s your position?
Please consider the following: people who are fully vaccinated (have received both doses) are still contracting COVID. They are being told they still can get COVID, they can still transmit COVID to others, and are not exempt from these (BS) mask mandates & social distancing requirements. The latest sales pitch I’ve seen is that getting the vaccine won’t give you immunity to COVID-19, it’ll just “lessen the severity” of your symptoms.
In light of those FACTS, why would anyone risk known & unknown side effects of this (it’s-not-really-a) vaccine?

Yes, I do believe this vaccine will eradicate this if enough people get it and we end up with herd immunity. I have known from the beginning that you can still contract it after getting the vaccine, but that your symptoms will be mild or non-existent. I know several people who are educated in the area of vaccines and I trust what they say.
Regardless of my views on the vaccine, my only point was that I think that these medical professionals on Free Republic are taking time out of their days because they truly care about people and believe the vaccine is going to put an end to this. I would never look at their participation on this forum as something suspect. That’s what I was addressing. Even if they’re wrong about the vaccine, I believe their motives for posting here are pure.
